Oliver served as a Paratrooper in the United States Army and studied at MSC. In the late 1980s through mid 90s Oliver pursued his love of music. He enjoyed traveling, playing percussion and writing lyrics for popular bands. During this time Oliver also began writing short stories and articles.

After playing for thousands through the fall and winter of 1996 Oliver's band abruptly disbanded. In early spring of 1997 Oliver, along with a good friend, who was a guitarist got together with the intention to form a new group. But rather than form a new band the two put together an expedition plan for traveling to Northern Canada and Alaska in order to prospect for gold.

Leaving in April of 1997 Oliver and company traveled up the historic AL-CAN hig

Thank you for that great question Olga.

I've been asked that type of question before in interviews. My short answer would be that 'A Tempest Soul' has been the most organic novel I've written so far. Once the characters came into place and the framework established, the story almost wrote itself.

But, on a more personal level, A Tempest Soul is very dear to my heart. I believe Gina, and later Serena could be any one of us at one time or another. We all want to feel that we have value. For Gina, this thought was diminished by her mother leaving her at a young age. To make matters worse, when she was finally feeling independent and responsible, an innocent mistake throws her back to the floor.

So, I suppose to try and answer your question Olga. I decided Gina would be the kind of young woman that, once in this position, if she saw a slight thread of hope, she would get a death grip on that and pull herself out of the hole. And as this occurred in the story, everything else she wanted came to her.

The dance didn't solve all of her problems though. And it actually brought new ones to her. But in the end, Serena had the ability to overcome and to finally find peace in her heart. This I feel is something we all can hope and strive for. And it's something we can be happy Serena found, since the road she had to travel was much more difficult than many others.(less)

Hello Shelly

I really can't say much about that right now. I apologize, but it's just a difficult question to answer at this time. I can tell you that there are several stories lined up which have a connection to Diver Creed. Hopefully one of these will be released next year, if all goes well.

Thank you for the question and maybe I can update the answer at a later date. :)

More books by Oliver Phipps…
Well, the sequel to The Bitter Harvest was released recently. It hit the best-seller list and has settled back down as sequels often do.

I'm excited to announce that if all goes well, we'll have another release in 2018. The first draft has been completed and it's now being edited.

I'm not sure on a release date, but it will likely be this fall unless things progress amazingly well.

“Every dance has a purpose and every dancer has a destiny.”
Oliver Phipps, A Tempest Soul

“When a soldier is taken prisoner, he doesn't turn down the food offered to him by his enemy simply because the food was grown on enemy soil. The bread did no evil. Nor does food commit crimes. I can give a piece of this bread to a bird and it won't poison the bird. And the bird won't question the origin of the offering either.”   “The wrong occurred when you forcefully took the bounty of another man's labor. The fact that your prisoners eat food derived from evil gains will not undo the initial wrong committed. Nor does it make them guilty of your crime”
Oliver Phipps, Twelve Minutes till Midnight

“Unless the people asked you to fight for them, you ain't fighting for the people. You're fighting for yourself.”
