Heather lives in North Carolina with her husband and their black cat, both of whom she adores. She currently splits her time between her day job in higher education, her family, her NaNoWriMo crew, and the worlds in her head. She has been creating those worlds for most of her life and still manages to get lost in them periodically. But it’s okay, everyone knows her there.

Camp NaNo July 2020: We’re Calling This a Win

This is going to be short and sweet because life is crazy for a variety of reasons and I’m running low on creative resources to devote to the blog.

I wrote 25 out of 31 days so far this month.  I wrote beyond my 20,000 word goal.  There’s at least a couple scenes I’m proud of so far.

We’re calling that a win.

Another great novel that kept me interested and reading. We get to learn more about a few characters we've known for a while and meet new ones that are as well developed and three-dimensional as I've come to expect from the series. I can't wait to st ...more

“I decided that I would do my best in the future not to write books just for money. If you didn't get the money then you didn't have anything. If I did the work I was proud of and I didn't get the money, at least I'd have the work.”
