There are days when I still can’t believe that I’m a writer. I’m so blessed to have been given the opportunity to write the stories that speak to my heart. My goal as a writer is to not only create a means of escape for the reader but to also generate an emotional connection between the reader and my characters. The stories I create are fictional, yet true to life.

I love connecting with readers, so please find me on my various social media sites!

I'm excited to be paired up with you this month. Like most readers, I have more books I want to read than I have time to read them! I'll have a look at our bookshelves and try to send you a PM to see if we can come up with a book we are both hoping to read. Can't wait!(less)

If I try to control the story, or push certain ideas that I think are right, I lock up. I have to let the ideas flow and write them as they want to be written. There are times when I don't even know why I wrote a particular part, but by the end of the story it has been revealed to me and it all falls into place.

If the ideas are not coming, then I either have too much else on my mind (like how much I need to get done around the house) or my story's not headed in the right direction. If it's because I have too much on my mind, I get rid of the block by knocking things off my to-do list. It lowers my stress and frees me up to be creative. If it's because I'm not headed in the right direction, I read back over what I've written so far and then I let it marinate. I play the story in my mind and let it find it's own natural course. A negative review . . . or is it?

I knew when I published SHATTERED ANGEL things would be different than they had been when I published my first two books. SHATTERED ANGEL is different in many ways. It’s a difficult book about a difficult subject. I knew some of the readers who loved the Kingston books might … Continue reading
