Logan Noble is a horror and science fiction writer who lives in Ohio with his wife and his two dogs. His short stories have appeared in a number of anthologies and magazines, including Pickman’s Gallery, Miskatonic Dreams, Déraciné Magazine, and Sanitarium Magazine. He is the writer of the horror slasher screenplay Hunter.

Let’s start with the most recent one. My Halloween story ‘Wolves at the Door’ was published by the good folks over at Dread Imaginings. I’m proud of this story. I wrote it (and two others) during my first two-week quarantine.

I think this collection is fascinating. The interconnected stories didn’t always work. But when they did it felt like magic in the way that excellent fiction does.

While the plot is largely competent, the cast and details of the world are a bit muddied. I liked that the vampires were a part of the world; that added a unique flavor to the story.

One of the most impressive books I’ve read in awhile. It’s massive in scale but beautifully focused as well, weaving magic and the pains of humanity into a fascinating mesh.

Wanted to read something in this universe following my watch of Alien: Romulus, but none of the novels were clicking. Then I discovered this. Mignola drawing Xenomorphs!? Sold. The story isn’t anything special but his art is as excellent as always.

I found the middle of the novel to drag, but it came to life toward the climax. I would have liked to have seen more big moments of horror. I liked the two leads quite a bit. Wouldn’t mind if we could see them on another wild adventure.

This collection feels raw and overflowing even in the brevity of the short story. So much is unspoken, so many extended metaphors turned into speculative shapes. Several stories needed a reread to click, to refind my footing between tales. Speaks to ...more
