Thanks for the great question! I read The Chronicles of Narnia and just loved the way C.S. Lewis told an exciting story set in a remarkable world but which also explored some deeper themes. I think that was the moment I decided I wanted to write fantasy. The Poison Tree Path Chronicles is a fast-paced adventure trilogy, set in a very different world to our own but the story also touches on deep issues. For instance, in the first book of the trilogy, Chains of Gwyndorr, a theme that emerges is choice and consequence. The characters make choices which ultimately lead them to truth and freedom or deeper into captivity.(less)

My fingers are stiff and cold as I tug at another slimy strand tangled in the net. “A whole night of fishing and all we catch is wretched seaweed,” I groan.

When my brother doesn’t even grunt in reply, I look up. Andrew’s hands have stilled on the net. He is looking down the shoreline, towards Capernaum. There seems to be some commotion there, for I hear distant voices and, shielding my eyes fro...

I like Geraghty's Irish voice. This is the second of her books that I've read. For me this story wasn't quite as riveting as Finding Mr Flood (her 1st book I read) but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. There's a lovely lightness and humour in her writin ...more

A well written story, with plenty of intrigue (initially) and some twists and turns in the plot. I did find I lost some interest once the secret was out, but that's just me. Overall, a good read.
