rem: Hullo Sharon, welcome. Tell us three random things about yourself.
SHARON: I’m a Trekkie, my favorite pet was a 5 foot lizard, I love panning for gold.
rem: Not a Trekkie myself but I love lizards. What is your favorite quotation and why?
SHARON: “There are always possibilities.” I think I like that quote because it speaks of never giving up. If a door closes in your face, look for a window.
rem: That’s powerful What do you do as a hobby?
SHARON: I love to bake, read, and travel.
rem: Ah yes, baking. Nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread. What would you be doing if you weren’t writing?
SHARON: Probably baking, reading, and traveling more. LOL
rem: LOL Touché. If you could go back in time, what era would you choose and why?
SHARON: Well…since I can’t go forward, I’ve always wanted to visit King Arthur’s court. I know it’s way more romantic in my head than reality, but I’d like to see it for myself.
rem: Oh yes, Camelot, and Guinevere—and Lancelot. What do you think is significant about Christian fiction? How has being a novelist impacted your relationship with Christ?
SHARON: I think there is a hope element in Christian Fiction that you don’t find anywhere else. I think seeing characters in a situation resembling yours and seeing them use their faith to come out on the other side is valuable. Writing my own stories has only proven that to me. You aren’t going to see my exact story on any page of any of my books, but seeing God in their situations helps me see Him in mine.
rem: So well said. When reading, what makes or breaks a story for you? Your fiction pet peeve?
SHARON: Poor editing. I’m indie published. I have crit partners, an editor, and numerous proofreaders. I know that even with those people in place, errors can still slip through, none of us are perfect. But I’ve seen some that looked like an editor never even saw it.
rem: Agree 100% What are you reading right now?
SHARON: I am reading a debut novel from one of our local ACFW members. DECISIONS, by Christina Rost.
rem: Tell us a little about your writing journey.
SHARON: I got a late start. I didn’t start writing until I was 54. So I’ve been writing for 14 years and I am working on book 24.
rem: We both started late; I was also 54 when I went for it ten years ago. Only nine books so far, though. What do you enjoy most about being a writer?
SHARON: The creativity. Mulling a problem around, looking at it from every angle until you find the answer that fits.
rem: Ah yes, I’m definitely a problem and puzzle solver, too. And not just in my stories. LOL What genre(s) do you write and why?
SHARON: Inspirational Women’s Fiction with romance. Those are the stories that God gives me so that’s what I write.
rem: I’ve never heard it put that way but it fits. Tell us a little about your latest book? What is your current project?
SHARON: My newest release was SAGE, Crafted with Love, book 5. I am working on PIPER, Crafted with Love, book 6
rem: What is YOUR favorite part about the book or why do you love this book? Why should we read it?
SHARON: For both of these books, I think what I like best is that the main characters have relatable problems. Being forgiven and making a life after an abortion. Struggling through post-partum anxiety when it feels like God isn’t listening. I think it goes back to your question about what’s significant about Christian fiction. HOPE!
rem: Absolutely! What is one take-away from your book(s) that you hope readers identify with?
SHARON: That we aren’t perfect but God loves us anyway.
rem: If only more people understood that. One more and then we’ll close. Do you have a life Scripture?
SHARON: Honestly that seems to change with the season of life I’m in. Right now I am leaning heavily on the 91st Psalm.
rem: Psalm 91 is a powerful and comforting Scripture. Anything you’d like to add? Thank you so much for chatting with us on my blog today!

BLOGWORDS – Thursday 20 JULY 2023 – SPECIAL EDITION – ANNABELLE PHILLIPS
SPECIAL EDITION – ANNABELLE PHILLIPS
Every parent’s heart hurts when their child is hurting. Multiply that times infinity when your child has a rare condition. One that confounded the doctors for weeks.
Annabelle Phillips turns 13 today, and has been in hospital for 38 days, many of them in ICU. Born with a heart that condition that required a transplant when she was eight months old. This sweet girl has been known more physical trauma than most of us will ever know.
Mom Krista posted on 12 June “Annabelle is still having headaches, severe belly pain, sleeping almost all day and night, and looks fairly pale.” Pics show how bloated poor Annabelle was. The journey has been heart wrenching, watching as she struggles, answers eluding medical staff. Ultimately she was diagnosed with thrombotic storm caused by CAPS. (5 July, Day 24)
Thrombotic storm (TS) is a rare, acute, hypercoagulable state characterized by multiple thromboembolic events affecting at least two different areas of the vascular system/organs over a short period of time.
Catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS) is a rare life-threatening autoimmune disease characterized by disseminated intravascular thrombosis resulting in multi-organ failure.
Annabelle has experienced respiratory failure and she has rallied, even sitting up and taking a few bites of soft food. There has been much blood work, CT scans, plasma exchange, and she is currently using a CPAP. The journey is a roller coaster; last Friday she was sitting up, doing really well. Then Monday it all crashed again with labored breathing.
In hospital or not, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNABELLE. May this be your best year yet!
Note to Krista and Scott: I believe that Annabelle will rise up from her sick bed. She will be a tower of strength and faith. I believe Father God has mighty things in store for her, and He will work even this dark hour to her good and His glory. (Romans 8:28)
Krista’s sister has set up a Go Fund Me to help defray the astronomical costs and ease the financial burden.
Krista Phillips writes inspirational romantic comedy. She believes a sprinkle of laughter (and a wee bit of chocolate) makes everything a little better! She blogs regularly about life as a wife, mother, follower of Jesus, and mother of a child with a rare congenital heart defect at

SPANISH / ESPAÑOLPero yo digo: ¡ama a tus enemigos! Bendice a quienes te maldicen. (NTV) Mateo 5:44-45
