Tom McHale is a committed learning junkie always seeking a new subject victim. As a lifelong student of whatever grabs his attention on any particular day, he thrives on beating rabbit trails into submission. In between his time as a high-tech marketing executive, restaurant owner, and hamster cosmetology practitioner, he's published seven books and nearly 1,500 articles.

For Tom, learning is only half the fun - the other half is sharing his experiences with readers using his trademark "half-cocked but right on target" style.

In case you haven't tried it, I find that playing the O'Jays at 11 on the volume dial always does the trick. Love Train fixes it every time. (less)

OK, so my 187 trillion figure might be more of a guess, but I'll still bet you a Spam sandwich that it's a big number. In any case, I figured there's no reason that I couldn't take on the challenge of writing about the Constitution in such a way as to make it not only historically accurate but entertaining. And I figured I'd get the added benefit that even a career politician could understand it. Yes, that was the biggest challenge. That's OK; it's not just an adventure, it's my job.

The neat part about this topic is that it stays out of the right/left, Republican/Democrat fray. The Constitution just is. If people don't agree with what it says, no problem, it's got built-in ways to change it. That's just one part of the design elegance that makes it timeless.

In our short attention span society, this seemed to be a great time to write a book that makes arcane political theory not only fun but informative and practical. There's no reason we can't have a little fun in the process.(less)

If you add a suppressor to your rifle, you’ll see more benefits than just a reduction of noise. Sure, lowering brain-rattling muzzle blast closer to hearing safe levels is a big benefit on its own. A suppressor also changes the feel of a high-powered rifle. By eliminating most of the blast, you’ll be less susceptible to flinch, and you’ll also experience lighter and smoother recoil.
