Kids and Hygiene

“Why does my child stink?”

I get this question fairly often from parents of tweens and teens, about boys and girls.

“Why doesn’t my child *care!?”

I get this question even more often!

Teaching kids to handle their own hygiene is one of the basic responsibilities of parenting. Many of us are surprised by what a challenge this can be!

This video is a quick guide to:

When our kids need these skills.
Why they don’t notice their own lack of hygiene.
How to build this habit in kids and teens.

Are you living with a child who would prefer not to bathe? I am! We can fix this!

Is it Selfish to Not Have Kids?

What about people who choose NOT to have kids?

The Pope said, on Vatican Radio recently, that people who don’t have children will suffer in old age “the bitterness of isolation.” He recommended that they stop worrying about finances and trade in pets for children. This makes sense, given his completely transparent agenda of needing the world’s faithful Catholics to make more faithful Catholics.

Is it truly “selfish” to stay childless?

Well, the other guest on this FOX News show thinks yes, but I say “No!” Watch, and let me know below what you think!

Why and When to Talk to Kids About Pornography

Kids and pornography?!

This might be the most stressful topic I’ve ever tackled on my site. I know that those words are bound to make most people feel a little sick to their stomachs. But we’re parents, and we can do hard things. It’s a hard thing to talk to kids about porn. But we have to do it!

Why should we talk to kids about pornography?

Well, they are going form opinions about it. Do you want some say in what those opinions are? I do!

When should we talk to kids about pornography?

Before they’ve seen it. It used to be about magazines, and access. Now, access is as close as the nearest screen. Just like every other tough conversation we have with a child or teen, this one happens over time, in stages. And we have to ask questions, figure out what they know and where they are now. But we can’t ignore it!
