Born in Panama, Emily Rachelle has traveled throughout the country and the world with her Air Force family. Currently, she attends university in Upland, Indiana, pursuing a degree in journalism. When she's not curled up with a book or her computer, Emily loves to ride around campus on her hideously hot pink bike. Of course, if it's raining (as it often is in Indiana), amateur art is always an option. Rain In December is her first published collection of poetry, and you can buy her Christian novella Sixteen on Amazon.

I know that's not a *literary* couple, but I love their relationship. They support each other, trust each other, tell each other everything. They always put each other's needs and dreams before those of friends or family, which can be a struggle. They have fights, like any couple, but they know how to fight healthy. They listen to what the other person is saying, they don't let a fight expand to affect unrelated parts of their lives, and they apologize when they're wrong or they've hurt each other. Their marriage is the kind of relationship I'd like to emulate in my own love life.(less)

Then I set a time (short limits - say, twenty minutes) and just write. Word wars help, too, if you have a writer friend willing and able to pitch in.(less)

J.K. Rowling
“I really feel that we're not giving children enough credit for distinguishing what's right and what's wrong. I, for one, devoured fairy tales as a little girl. I certainly didn't believe that kissing frogs would lead me to a prince, or that eating a mysterious apple would poison me, or that with the magical "Bibbity-Bobbity-Boo" I would get a beautiful dress and a pumpkin carriage. I also don't believe that looking in a mirror and saying "Candyman, Candyman, Candyman" will make some awful serial killer come after me. I believe that many children recognize Harry Potter for what it is, fantasy literature. I'm sure there will always be some that take it too far, but that's the case with everything. I believe it's much better to engage in dialog with children to explain the difference between fantasy and reality. Then they are better equipped to deal with people who might have taken it too far.”
J.K. Rowling

“So top grade's O for 'Outstanding,'" Hermione was saying, "and then there's A-"
"No, E," George corrected her, "E for 'Exceeds Expectations.' And I've always thought Fred and I should've got E in everything, because we exceeded expectations just by turning up for the exams.”
J.K. Rowling

Mahatma Gandhi
“To call woman the weaker sex is a libel; it is man's injustice to woman. If by strength is meant brute strength, then, indeed, is woman less brute than man. If by strength is meant moral power, then woman is immeasurably man's superior. Has she not greater intuition, is she not more self-sacrificing, has she not greater powers of endurance, has she not greater courage? Without her, man could not be. If nonviolence is the law of our being, the future is with woman. Who can make a more effective appeal to the heart than woman?"

[To the Women of India (Young India, Oct. 4, 1930)]”
