Bridget Blackwood is an East Texas native living in Dallas with her husband, three children, and a menagerie of pets. She is a self proclaimed horror movie addict and an avid reader with a voracious appetite for romance of all kinds. Her paranormal series, World in Shadows, started as a what-if daydream scenario. Loud, demanding characters keep pushing her to write more.

“Clothing is a wrapper, it means nothing. Your worth is measured by your actions and the words you speak.”
Bridget Blackwood, Belong to the Night

“Guys are one click games and we have to be Rubik’s cubes. It’s not fair.”
Bridget Blackwood, Belong to the Night

“You’re still hurting and you might hurt forever but I want to be the one to comfort you.”
Bridget Blackwood, A Scarlet Fury

“This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes, when I am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals–sounds that say listen to this, it is important.”
Gary Provost

“If you run from me, I will chase you, and I'll find you....”
Jeaniene Frost, Halfway to the Grave

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero

“My tongue will tell the anger of my heart, or else my heart concealing it will break.”
