Christina Boyd wears many hats as she is a great reader, an editor at The Quill Ink, a contributor to Austenprose, and a ceramicist. A life member of Jane Austen Society of North America, Christina lives in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest with her dear Mr. B, two busy teenagers, and a retriever named BiBi. Visiting Jane Austen's England was made possible by actor Henry Cavill when she won the Omaze experience to meet him in the spring of 2017 on the London Eye. True story. You can Google it.

Publishers Weekly reviewed #RationalCreaturers

“This impressive anthology introduces the works of 16 gifted Jane Austen–inspired authors, whose short stories reimagine adventures of Austen’s characters and glow with the beloved novelist’s timeless blend of romantic intrigue, witticisms, and biting social commentary on life’s absurdities. The stories, which complement Austen’s humor, irony, and spirited heroines, While these reimagined chara... Read more of this blog post »

Dark? Unbelievable? Affected? Yes, to all. But debut author Kelly Miller bravely undertakes this paranormal continuation of “Pride and Prejudice” and makes it entirely her own. Although in a field of many novels inspired by Jane Austen’s masterpiece,

Christina Boyd, Dangerous to Know: Jane Austen's Rakes & Gentlemen Rogues

“In one section of the Vindication, Wollstonecraft writes that she’s disgusted with how her culture keeps women down. She sees females being most valued by power-hungry men, who encourage them to serve as weak, ignorant, pretty playthings. It’s a perpetuating cycle, because men, Wollstonecraft writes, “have increased that inferiority till women are almost sunk below the standard of rational creatures.” She concludes, “I think the female world oppressed.” We might say that, across this volume’s dazzling stories—and alongside the beyond-compare Austen herself—it’s a belief that must seem eminently rational. Fortunately, then, as now, such a cultural diagnosis precludes neither hope nor joy.”
