S.L. Shelton, a bestselling thriller author, is a passionate, fact spouting former techie and soldier who is constantly at odds with his need to kick the legs out from under those who abuse their power (Political, Economic or Super). He lives on a tiny little farm on the banks of a tiny little river in the northwestern part of Virginia, where his semi-secret identity is somewhat protected on three sides. Despite deep misgivings about writing on subjects close to his own life, he has penned a series of books about a similarly broken, similarly gifted young man who similarly doesn't have a clue when to stop and re-evaluate life decisions.

Before building his career in the computer field for nearly two decades as a developer, designer, trainer

Plus, I like seeing my novels with Best Seller rankings next to them. That thrill motivates me quite a good bit as well.(less)

I try to stay true to the hardware used by each service. There are many individual tweaks to equipment in the field by JSOC personnel but the tried and true go-tos are there for a reason. The TAC 50 Rifle (though designated MK 15 by the SEALs) is an easily recognizable weapon with well known performance. Because Scott is CIA, he saw the rifle and thought "TAC 50". Marsh, if asked about it would have not mentioned it was an MK15, but would have instead thought "silly civilian". :) Thanks again for the great question.

Update: June 2017 - A Canadian Special Forces sniper has just shattered Craig Harrison's .338 Lapua Magnum longest confirmed kill record...like destroyed it...with a McMillian TAC 50. This one will stand for a while, I'm sure.

Occam’s Sharp Tongue – Release Day Celebration

It’s been several years since I released a new book. As many of you know, my sweet wife Diane, the woman whose inspiration and support brought me to write my first novel so many years ago, lost her battle with cancer in October of 2020. It should be no surprise to anyone that the first…

“It’s funny. Every CIA agent you ask, ‘Are you CIA?’ says, ‘No. Not CIA,’” he said as he walked toward me. “It makes you wonder if there are actually any CIA agents at all.”
S.L. Shelton, A Lamb in Wolfe's Clothing

“The average human body requires seven and a half to eight and a half hours of sleep to remain optimal. Stress increases the need for sleep. Loss of one and a half hours of sleep can result in a thirty-two percent reduction in waking alertness, impaired memory, and cognitive and information-processing”
