I am working on another book right now. It's not a sequel to Truest, but it does have some of the same elements (I hope!): broken but beautiful characters, ideas to chew on, and lots of kissing. ;-)

I had expected it to come out next year, but there are a couple reasons it might get pushed back. I just want it to be perfect.

All my best,

Oh Tess, thank you so much! That's so encouraging to hear. I'm delighted you enjoyed your time in Green Lake.

Solipsism syndrome is something I personally experienced, though a little different than what Laurel's story looks like. At the time, I thought I was just going crazy. For me, it turned out to be intensely connected to OCD, which I was diagnosed with shortly thereafter. Years later, I stumbled upon a Wikipedia article about it, finally had a name to label my experience, and knew someday I would write about it. And so I did. :-)(less)

"This is my new favorite book. So beautifully written and emotional. The discussion of faith is something not often tackled in YA novels, but it is in this one and I loved it since it was very subtle and not at all preachy. These characters aren't..." Read more of this review »

Truest by Jackie Lea Sommers
"This book is joyful, wonderful, awful, heartbreaking, and tear jerking all at the same time... I didn’t understand the meaning of the title until the end only because I was too wrapped up in the story."

"This is a very good book it had a little bit of everything in it. For me, it was a quicker read because it was such a good book and I could not put it down. "

“I'm seventeen. Seems like I only blinked and here I am. I'm speeding like a rocket toward death. I'm spiraling toward the end of now and the start of infinity. It's a countdown. But to what? Can't gift wrap eternity.”
Jackie Lea Sommers, Truest

“I don't care about probabilities. If something were one-in-a-million, I would wonder if the one had found me. It's the uncertainty that's torture.”
