Dave and I were teenage sweethearts, and were married in June 1967. We went on to have three wonderful sons, Steven, Martin and Robert. We lived in the suburbs of London until 1983, when we moved to Hayling Island, in Hampshire. It is a lovely place to live, and I don't think we will ever move from here.

It was our youngest son Rob, a surviving twin, who became seriously ill with a diffuse astrocytoma.

I wrote Future Confronted, not only to honour my son, but also in the hope that it will help others who have travelled, or who are travelling the same path as we, his family, did.
