Heart of flesh - Fake life (cp4) 4/5

He shrugs, lights up his joint and takes a nice long drag. He tries toget up off the sofa to go to his room, but he feels a sudden dizziness and falls
back.

Shit, this is strong!

He smiles feebly as the film’s characters become watery.

Everything seems to melt like a painting in the rain.

Everything, even his hand that doubles, triples, quadruples…

He sees many Andreas who get up and do different things; one begins to
dance with George, one screams on his knees, one cries crouched on the chair,
one picks up a book and begins to read it sitting on the ground, one opens the
window and throws himself out of it, another attempts to swallow his own hand…

One talks on the phone, listens, the cordless falls to the floor and he
leaves the house.

Fuck, George!

Fuck you and your fucking joint!

There are hallucinations of many lives that begin to arise from that
moment. Similar lives which however manifest diversity. He had never thought of
throwing himself out of the window and has never felt as desperate as that. And
he would never have joined in dancing with his friend.

The one where he’s talking on the phone, however, is different, and
seems more real than the others. He almost hears the voice of a man on the
phone. It’s familiar, it sounds like his uncle’s voice.

Who knows if it’s better than the life he’s living. In essence, it would
only have to be different for him to want to swap it over. Yes, he would swap
it over willingly.

"Andrea!" he wakes up suddenly when George shakes him on the
shoulder. "How’s it going?" he asks, his voice is muffled. Everything
is clouded and his mouth is invaded by an annoying taste of burnt oil.
"Everything okay?"

He finds himself lying on the couch again, he sits up with his head in
his hands.

"Liked the trip?"

Andrea doesn’t even look at him, he shows him just how much he enjoyed it
with his middle finger raised.

"Ungrateful," he laughs.

He looks up and sees George had already cleansed and changed. “I’m going,
then. Are you all right?”

He nods, feeling his senses slowly reawakening. His sight refocuses and
his hearing is sensitive once more. The clock on the TV cabinet says it’s after
six.

"Maybe it was too strong," he pats him on the back.

"Have you got everything?" Andreas asks for confirmation.

“Everything. And thanks, I really had fun.”

Andrea gets up and accompanies him to the door. George goes away as
happy as a child. “Have a safe trip.”

"I’ll call you when I’m back next week." He enters the elevator
and goes.

He closes the door and goes around the house: it’s all right. He opens
the windows in some rooms to change the air and throws himself on the sofa
again. He tunes into the trance music channel and decides to relax in a normal
way.

He hears the phone ringing and also some text messages, but it’ll be the
randy beast who’s trying to contact him again. He ignores her, something he
can’t do with an empty stomach after the joint.

He’s incredibly hungry, but dinner will be full of fresh mountain delicacies,
so he tries to resist the temptation to wolf down everything there is in the
refrigerator.

The other George appears in the living room and, as much as Andrea had seenit all before, it’s always like the first time. He opens his eyes widely
wearing a fake smile of courtesy so as not to offend him.

"Well?" he asks with a red mouth that stands out together with
the heavy eye makeup, white face and backcombed hair to make it curly and
thick. "It’s new, for a change," he says, running his hands over the
black leather bustier he had put on around his waist. His worked-out pectoral
muscles stick out the top with a surreal juxtaposition.

"It seems okay to me," he says, opening the bag with the special
joints.

George walks on his high heels like an expert model and approaches to
take his. Seeing his leg hair sprout out like tuft from his fishnet stockings
held up by garters, Andrea wonders how he manages to stop scratching himself continuously.
Keeping his head down, he lifts up his hand to give him the super roach.

"Here I am…" he hums happily in his tight black briefs that
make George the Milanese Frank-N-Furter more similar to that of the film
starring Tim Curry.

Horror George points at him. “Don’t dream it…” he says with a
falsetto voice.

"Be it!" Andrea ends, starting the film.

George lights up his joint and takes to dancing around the room singing
the songs of the film loudly.

Andrea has given up trying to understand why three years ago, one day, George
decided that that was what made him happy. You can see he enjoys himself; he
dances in a carefree fashion and moves as if he were born with those clothes.

If you are happy, my friend…

He knows him from kindergarten and they’ve made all sorts of mess
together. They went with women together, they got high, transgressive holidays
and all the things real friends do.

Andrea is the only one who knows about his hidden side and other things
he has seen him do, even Sabrina doesn’t know and will never know. George was
categorical: "My kinks must remain top secret! Just like everything
we’ve done over the past years."

Sabrina is narrow-minded and very reserved and rigid, which went for sex
too. However, she’s rich, an only child and quite spoiled. After nearly a year
of courtship, George had deflowered her with the promise of marriage that will
take place as soon as she graduates.

As far as she’s concerned, George is a life-long little virgin.
Andrea, on the other hand, is portrayed as a callous depraved person since the
days of high school. The truth is Andrea is a novice compared to George, but
the important thing is that Sabrina is convinced of its truth, so he’ll have a
wife and a house and, with time, even children.

George wants a fake life with Sabrina to have some glimpses of a real
life like the one he is experiencing now, immersed in one of his many
perversions.

Only Andrea understood this: Horror George is the real George.

According to Andrea, however, he’s wrong.

He shouldn’t suppress himself with Sabrina, in fact, he should tell her
everything. Moreover, perversion is in the eye of the beholder as they deem it
to be according to common sense imposed by society or family. But perversion
isn’t such for those who live it.

It would be enough to open the mind of his future wife, and everything
could be experienced more peacefully. If you love someone, it’s because we
accept all aspects of their character, even those which aren’t shown for
modesty or shame.

He once tried to tell him that, but was dissuaded; George is happy this
way.

Andrea stares at him a moment longer while George raises his hands and
sways with his eyes closed.

… I’m happy for you too.
