So, as a follow up to the last post, and now that I’ve tried it, I do highly recommend this DIY Detox Deodorant. I gave it a shot, it was super easy to make and it works! I now have my entire family switched over to this clean and healthy deodorant option that uses bentonite clay.
In fact, the ease of the process and the awesome results so inspired me, that I decided to try a batch of Honey Lavender Bodywash and some Vanilla Latte Bodyscrub. Both turned out so beautifully that I may never buy another commercial beauty product again!!
Everyone in my family is asking to have their own bottle of the bodywash to use in their sink in shower areas. So, on my writing breaks today I’m going to make a few more bottles of Honey Lavender recipe. But I also have some other ideas I’d like to try out, like a natural antibacterial handsoap for the kitchen and bathrooms. And I’ve thought of two other body wash recipes — one with bentonite clay for detox and another with a gluten free oat infusion for soothing skin irritations. I absolutely *love* making these concoctions and sharing them with friends and family.
And speaking of *love*, I’m going to get back to The Haunting of Alcott Manor now. Writing this gothic has turned out to be so much fun!!

The Surprising Benefits of Bentonite Clay and Warm Laundry
I am a long time advocate of Bentonite Clay. (And warm laundry, too, but I’ll get to that part later…) It’s an amazing product for detox and can be used internally and externally. So, when my sister told me last week that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, I shared with her this resource. It’s especially recommended for those with breast cancer but anyone can use it. It does everything from calming nausea to remineralizing teeth but I think its primary value is in its ability to help you detox.
I love the Living Clay Detox Clay Powder, you can find it on amazon. www.WellnessMama.com sells a different brand of detox clay. I haven’t tried that particular brand, but I’ve heard good things about it.
I take the Living Clay every morning 1tsp in a little water, mix with a plastic or wooden spoon, though. Metal makes it less effective as the clay can absorb some of the metal from the utensil. I’ve also used it for a good facial and to help Fred and Ginger (my dogs) when they’ve had upset tummies (1/4 t. in their water bowl does the trick!).

Speaking of which..(the writing, not Fred) I have three new books coming out in 2016. Which is an adventurous schedule for someone who has two children, two other businesses, two dogs and one husband. But, I think I can swing it. Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise as my grandfather would have said.
My first book release of 2016 is a Contemporary Gothic entitled The Haunting of Alcott Manor. I’ll do a cover reveal on that one soon. I think you’re going to love the story — lots of mystery and romance!
My next release for the year is Book Three in The Fine Art of Deception Series — Lost in Time !!!
And the third release will be Book Four in the series!
If you haven’t yet started The Fine Art of Deception series, now is a good time to delve into this paranormal romance. (Or some call it Supernatural Suspense…) And not just because you might be snuggled by a cozy fire during snowmageddon, or maybe because of that, but also because I’ve marked Book 1 in the series to free for a limited time. Pick it up at Amazon, Kobo, Apple, Barnes and Noble or Smashwords.
And, if you have friends in Germany or the UK who love romance, they can find The Fine Art of Deception on Tolino.de and in libraries throughout the UK.

So, now on to the surprising benefits of warm laundry. I was researching other benefits of Bentonite Clay and came across this site: www.bodyunburdened.com where she talked about making her own deodorant with the bentonite clay. So, I wandered over to an article she had on wool dryer balls and I read this excerpt:
“Every once in a while – when I actually take my laundry out of the dryer just as it is finished rather than lazily leaving it for, oh you know, a couple of days or so – I throw it on my bed, dig my way underneath the heaping pile, and lie there enjoying the warmth until it dies out.
It is, without a doubt, one of the greatest pleasures I have ever known.”
Really? I wouldn’t have thought so. But, as luck would have it, it was laundry day. So, when I took the warm bundle from the dryer, I put it on the breakfast table. I took a seat and rested my head and shoulders on the pile of sheets to see what she was talking about.
Oddly, I was transported to those carefree summer vacations at my grandmother’s house when I was young. She would fix us a picnic lunch then we’d go to her brother’s house and swim in his pool. He always had English bulldogs with the funniest names.
Simple joys.
Just like warm laundry, apparently.

REVIEW
Blake and Addison have been through a living hell because of forgeries and thefts. But does he have what it takes to protect Addison? Addison must go testify and everything is in place to protect her but it doesn’t mean it will. Her gift will be put to the test in this story.
Addison has a gift for reading art and her only goal is finding out what happened to her father and grandfather but how can she also save herself and Blake in all this? Come follow Addison as she tries to protect those she loves while journeying into time and back. I read book 1 in this series and enjoyed it and I am happy to read even more of this couples struggle to keep each other save.
Book 2 will keep you in suspense and if you love mystery well its all in here.
This was a great next in this series. We are given a small cliffhanger.
I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review.

Review of Somewhere in Time by Jeri’s Book Attic
Review of Somewhere in Time from Jeri’s Book Attic:
“Somewhere In Time” by Alyssa Richards is the second
book of the “The Fine Art of Deception” series and I think I need to steal my own review of “Undoing Time” … because this book continues in a wonderful way the journey that started in “Undoing Time”.
Just like the first book – “Somewhere in Time” features an interesting concept of Romance, Paranormal Elements and Crime.
And I devoured in just a few hours.
I never left the middle of a Movie Set of something between Pierce Brosnan’s “The Thomas Crown Affair” or Sean Connery’s “Entrapment” that I stepped in when I read the first book. I was sucked right back into the story from the beginning and I could not stop reading.
It was such an interesting mix between the paranormal – romance and crime elements that kept me reading and wondering what might happen next. I really whished there were more books out there playing in such an intriguing way with different elements instead of featuring only one.
I liked the characters and the mystery around them also how the story developed step by step and even if I already had my suspicions quite early it was not disturbing my reading to find out I was right about certain things.
There is not much I can say about the actual story of the book as I do not want to spoiler anything
so I can only suggest
READ IT …
(but if you haven’t Read the first book in the series you need to start there as it is not a standalone novel)

I am smack dab in the middle of my blog tour for the 2nd Book in The Fine Art of Deception Series — Somewhere in Time (it released on the 8th), Christmas shopping for my husband and two young boys and preparing for family to visit for the holidays. (whew!) Not sure why it worked out for all of that to land at once, but my life usually goes that way
For nearly 14 years now, our Christmas morning has been blessed with children’s smiles and giggles and the most drawn-out gift opening ceremony you’ve ever seen. My kids don elf or Santa hats, pass out gifts and insist that only one gift be opened at a time. They love to savor these Christmas mornings.
There’s usually a break in the middle of the action so we can pull the eggs and grits casserole from of the oven. My mother and grandmother used to make this casserole on Christmas mornings, now I make it for our family. Here’s a good recipe for one. We keep ours vegetarian by either omitting the meat or using fake meat crumbles (it’s really good!).

Somewhere in Time REVIEW on Splashes Into Books!

After reading ‘The Fine Art of Deception: Undoing Time’ I ended my review “I really hope there will be a sequel!” and here it is! Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to read and review this and I have to say I’m so impressed with how the story progresses, mysteries revealed only to pose more to be investigated. The characters are superbly portrayed and have ‘grown’ in personality and relationships since their appearance in the first novel.
The romance between Addie and Blake is developing well but Otto is as machiavellian as ever, determined, scheming and dangerous, decidedly a nasty piece of work out to manipulate and abuse Addison’s talents for his own benefits. The couple are in danger again from Otto’s machinations and they run for their lives, trying to stay away from this criminal mastermind. As Addie learns more about the secrets her own family have been hiding she is shocked and dismayed but she is also now more able to embrace her own psychic talents and better able to put them to use for good. However, against such a foe, will they stand a chance of achieving their HEA or will Otto win? Can Addie find out what has happened to her father and grandfather?
The dramatic events quickly entrap the reader in this thrilling story, taking them on a roller coaster ride, empathising with the characters, their feelings and reactions to events. It is superbly written painting vivid images in the imagination of the reader, with superb characters, action packed adventures, secrets to be discovered and an enthralling journey too with plenty of surprises along the way. The investigations lead on to even more intertwined mysteries.
I highly recommend this novel, a great journey in time and back again, with mysteries, romance, suspense and thrills galore in a superbly crafted story.
