I was born in Essex England, and grew up on the Isle of Wight from the age of three. At the age of 22 I moved permanently to Ireland, where I lived in West Cork, and more recently in Co. Roscommon. For most of that time I was teaching children with Special Needs and raising my three children with my husband.

After taking early retirement, I am enjoying writing books for children, playing with our four grandchildren when we see them (as they live in U.S.A. and New Zealand) and I take an active role in my local writers' group.

I write children's books because I enjoyed reading as a child, I taught children and believe in the power of books to foster imagination and creativity, and because I am a child at heart if the truth be known.

I think I was creating stories orally first and then started writing them down from about the age of six. First of all, it was fairy stories, then adventure stories, moving on to teenage angst and romance. As we progress through life our writing changes to reflect our experiences and learning.

I like to garden, to get my hands into the dirt and help stuff grow. Especially Zucchinis and Pumpkins and all types of veg as we live so far out of town. It's so nice to go out and pick some greens for a delicious bowl of hot ramen soup, which I lov See J.A.’s answer.

“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
