HIDDEN INSIDE

photo (14)

Walls no longer whispered

As aged curtain sheers hung

Stained yellow by her fears

The dark shadows birthed

Strangers she couldn’t hear

And torment hid beneath

Floorboards soaked in tears

Hold fast to the wings

Fluttering nearby

Steadfast to the breath

Holding your cry

Walls no longer listened

Bedspread long ago faded

Time of death; nobody knows

Hungry sunlight filtered in

Her body naked and exposed

Strangers she couldn’t hear

With theories only supposed

Life discounted her ticket home

Hold fast to the wings

Fluttering nearby

Steadfast to the breath

Holding your cry

COSMIC ANSWERS

Breaking Night By HastyWords

Breaking Night By HastyWords

My identity floats among stars

With lights that are never seen

I am wholly me and yet lost

Inside a sea of burnt out dreams

Where sound waves penetrate

Exploding like tongues liquored

And drunk on galactic debris

Where ecstasies echo endlessly

Within its silent void

And yet meaning is completely

Understood and swallowed

By a constructed universal code

Leaving me swimming

And drowning, perpetually

Who?

Who am I to be?

Whispers a universe full

Of wannabe somebodies

Just be!

Answers the cosmos

That feeds us our destiny

HE WAS A SATELLITE SEX MACHINE ON HIS WAY TO MARS

This is part of the 25 days and 25 songs challenge created by Stuphblog. Click on the icon to participate and get the details.

25-days

DAY EIGHTEEN: A SONG YOU LOVE BUT RARELY LISTEN TOO

I love every single song Freddy Mercury sang. There was just something about his voice and the passion he gave to every song.  I love all the “hit” favorites but I really love this song.

Don’t Stop Me Now ~ Queen
Tonight I’m gonna have myself a real good time

I feel alive and the world it’s turning inside out Yeah!

I’m floating around in ecstasy

So don’t stop me now don’t stop me

‘Cause I’m having a good time having a good time

I’m a shooting star leaping through the skies

Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity

I’m a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva

I’m gonna go go go

There’s no stopping me

I’m burning through the sky yeah!

Two hundred degrees

That’s why they call me Mister Fahrenheit

I’m trav’ling at the speed of light

I wanna make a supersonic man out of you

Don’t stop me now

I’m having such a good time

I’m having a ball

Don’t stop me now

If you wanna have a good time

Just give me a call

Don’t stop me now (’cause I’m having a good time)

Don’t stop me now (yes I’m having a good time)

I don’t want to stop at all… yeah!

I’m a rocket ship on my way to Mars

On a collision course

I am a satellite I’m out of control

I am a sex machine ready to reload

Like an atom bomb about to

Oh oh oh oh oh explode

I’m burning through the sky Yeah!

Two hundred degrees

That’s why they call me Mister Fahrenheit

I’m trav’ling at the speed of light

I wanna make a supersonic woman of you

Don’t stop me

Don’t stop me

Don’t stop me

Hey hey hey!

Don’t stop me

Don’t stop me

Ooh ooh ooh (I like it)

Don’t stop me

Don’t stop me

Have a good time, good time

Don’t stop me

Don’t stop me

Ooh ooh alright

Ooh I’m burning through the sky yeah!

Two hundred degrees

That’s why they call me Mister Fahrenheit

I’m trav’ling at the speed of light

I wanna make a supersonic man out of you

Don’t stop me now

I’m having such a good time

I’m having a ball

Don’t stop me now

If you wanna have a good time

Just give me a call

Don’t stop me now (’cause I’m having a good time)

Don’t stop me now (yes I’m having a good time)

I don’t wanna stop at all

BECAUSE GIRLS ARE COOL – SANDY RAMSEY

So many of my family and friends are celebrating their birthday this month I can barely keep up!  This beautiful lady, Mother of Imperfection celebrated hers recently… and she is as real as a person can get.  Some of her posts hurt to read and prove, once again, how strong mothers can be.   I love her spirit and I love her blog.  I didn’t include any of the Say What You Need to Say posts but she opens up her blog to guests posts here and it is a fantastic way to meet some other bloggers.

Happy Belated Birthday SANDY!!!

No Stripper Pole, Just Glitter and Gratitude

Ok I am a bit late but I hope this makes up for it :)

I GOTTA TICKET

This is part of the 25 days and 25 songs challenge created by Stuphblog. Click on the icon to participate and get the details.

25-days DAY SEVENTEEN: A SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO DANCE

I have some bad habits and one of them is driving too fast.  I am really great at abiding by school zone limits but get me on an open stretch of road alone and I forget limits exist.  I picked this song because I got pulled over and given a ticket because of this song.  You might say it was me and my foot that broke the law but really it was this song.  My mood and my body both love dancing to this song.

It was a gorgeous morning so I had the windows down and I was late heading to work because of a morning appointment so there was nobody on this stretch of road.  Nobody… except a police officer.

Police Officer: I pulled you over because you were speeding.

Me: Dang, I hate it when a song makes me speed.

Police Officer: Ma’am?

Me: (I turn radio up and get giggy with it and smile)

Police Officer: Maybe you shouldn’t listen to music when you are driving.

Me: You’re right, I GOTTA FEELING my husband is gonna be mad.

Police Officer: I am going to write it for under 10 so it doesn’t go on your record.

Me: Thank you I GOTTA FEELING I learned my lesson.

Police Officer: (chuckles and walks off)

I never get out of a ticket…ever…ever…ever!!!

BECAUSE GIRLS ARE COOL – SAMARA

photo

Samara writes the superstar blog A Buick in the Land of Lexus  I am not even sure where to start or end with this blogger because she is…well…she is Samara.

She is a powerful writer who does not pull any punches when it comes to her writing. She writes what she thinks, feels, lives, and loves.  I admire her courage as I do all the bloggers I have been highlighting.  I have discovered there ARE girls out there like me.  Girls who fight themselves and how they feel, girls who fight for their friends, and who fight for their families.  Girls who will not back down when attacked but also question their worth at the very same time.  Girls who put on a brave and courageous mask just long enough to do what they feel is right but are sensitive and weak inside their strength.  Samara owns every single part of herself and we see her struggle and her strength and it is beautiful.

Please get to know Samara, I am glad I have.

25-days

DAY SIXTEEN: A SONG THAT HAS MADE YOU CRY

Considering nearly every song has the potential to make me cry this one was really hard.  I can’t just pick one so here are a few that come to mind.  There are so many more … but these songs with their lyrics either made me cry because I needed a motivational reprieve or big ugly snotty messy cry because they described how I felt.  Again, in case the links don’t work, I provided the songs so you can check them out on youtube if you would like.

LOCKED BY ANGEL WINGS

Toad paid me an email visit and we wrote another duet.  It has been awhile and it was nice to partner with him again.  I love how this one turned out!

WRITTEN BY THIS OLD TOAD AND HASTYWORDS
Dancing indecision melodically
upon my burning heart,
A desire so overwhelming
liken a wave smothering me whole
as i reach for your tender love
hell break free crushes me above.

Angels seem to dance and flirt
dramatically out of reach
Never casting their glances
in the direction that we meet
Flailing in the places in between
we carefully tread on jagged beats.

Throughout hope and laughter
blinding in between those truly
known bend of light hiding thee.
To step upon still muddy water,
a truth will honestly set us free.

Storms chase us into distraction
prohibiting us from full attraction.
Glowing globes of planets line
pathways in the pebbled stone
and lead us into other unknowns.

I would like to introduce a friend of mine, Hasty Words, who is also an outstanding writer, and author of two books. Her newest book release, “Depression’s Dance” is now available on Amazon.

Depression’s Dance is a book about a season of Hasty’s life in which she chronicles the wpid-screenshot_2014-05-15-16-15-43-1.pngstinging, black claws of depression and the torment that comes with it. It is a conversation with depression, as if personified but possessing the power to manipulate our emotions at will. It is filled with Hasty’s unique brand of poetry and prose. Photos are also interlaced within the pages of poetry and conversation. I found her book to be both insightful and original.

I was given the opportunity to ask Hasty some questions about her book, and about herself; the writer who knows this topic well enough to capture it in words and pictures.

1. Depression’s Dance is semi-autobiographical…
