Michele Rivera is a Massachusetts native who has been writing creatively since her childhood. As a lesbian and humanist, she tries to normalize love in all of its forms in her stories. She is a dreamer, ally, and hopeless romantic.

Through her writing, Michele strives to open the minds and hearts of her readers by tackling societal stereotypes both within and outside of the LGBTQ+ Community, not shying away from "touchy" subject matters, and by sharing her strong personal beliefs that love is love and that happily ever afters do exist.

Also, I create playlists for every book I write so sometimes I will just take a walk or go to my own space with headphones and listen to the soundtrack and try to imagine what I want for the book and its characters. It's important to remind yourself to be patient with yourself and to trust that you won't be blocked forever. (less)

Hey! Thanks for stopping by to read some unedited rambling!

Let’s rewind for sec, shall we? So most of you know that in June of 2017, an event took place that completely changed my life. Then, this past February, I made a heartbreaking decision and my world came undone. It was painful and sad and terrible, but my world was already unraveling as it was, and so it fell completely apart. It needed...

“You see, that’s the thing about a girl,
Her kisses leave you breathless
Her eyes become your world
But it never seems to matter where she stops, lingers or starts
She’ll sometimes revive it,
sometimes break it,
but she will always steal your heart”
Michele L. Rivera, Taking the Lead

“...There are no ‘what ifs.’ You have to jump in. You go in all the way or back off completely. Take her in with all that you’ve got or cut her loose.”
Michele L. Rivera, Something in Return

“You can’t be the warrior in someone else’s tragedy”
Michele L. Rivera, With a Purpose

“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”
Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

“Just remember, someday you might be asking for forgiveness. And if that day were to come, you would want it, wouldn’t you?”
Michele L. Rivera, Taking the Lead

“I think it is important to recognize one’s power, one’s capacities, and one’s dreams. We were actually talking about this in the last men’s group we had. We were talking about these dreams they had as kids and how they just disappeared. They just seemed like they couldn’t even be followed anymore. So for me that’s a loss of power. That’s a loss of their power; their own belief that they control their world. But they need to understand that their actions matter." - Chris”
Robert Uttaro, To the Survivors: One Man's Journey as a Rape Crisis Counselor with True Stories of Sexual Violence

“Great people do things before they’re ready. They do things before they know they can do it.”
Amy Poehler
