You Are Enough -Your Core Wounding
“Your core wounding is separation from self-love, which results in deep feelings of unworthiness. The healing of that wounding is a journey back to your Essential Self..“
The details are inconsequential. in fact, you may not even remember what happened. What is important is that there was some pivotal juncture in your formative years when you first realized that your Essential Self did not fit into the conditioning of the world into which you were born. It was a moment of emotional torment and upheaval, imprinted on your being like a vibrational energetic tattoo. You were not safe.
Simultaneously with that event, a deep sense of unworthiness entered your vibrational sphere and became cemented in place by shame and guilt.
In order to begin the journey, you have to turn and face this unworthiness. The thorn can only be removed by finding and facing it, acknowledging its power over you, however brief. What you have been doing is looking away from your core wounding, distracting yourself by making more money, changing relationships, focusing on “self-improvement,” instead of creating an inner focus on the one thing that really needs your attention and can make the difference.
Freedom comes from giving that feeling your conscious attention, without judgment. Your will-ingness to surrender to the feeling of unworthiness, un-lovability, or not being enough is the crack that allows grace to enter.

You Are Enough – Conditioning
“From the moment you were born, throughout your childhood, early adolescence, and late teens, you have been conditioned out of your authenticity and away from your Divine Essence.“
You have been influenced and altered, so you could please others. You have conformed, learning to live from fear, inadequacy, and scarcity, because those are the energies that dominate the world you live in, where it is wrong to get angry, to feel sadness, to feel pain. You created a facade that was good enough
Everywhere you looked, there it was—conditioning, an insidious control mechanism that makes you believe you must think, look, speak, and act a certain way to gain love and acceptance.
You became a master of camouflage, a chameleon. You became so good at adapting to what people expected from you that you started to forget your real colors. You never really let another person see who you were—your flaws, the “awful” things you had done, the mistakes you made.
Over and over, you found people who would dance your dance, but the final movements were always the same—some form of betrayal, abandonment, or rejection.
Buried deep underneath that facade and that pain is your Divine Essence. You have covered it up and forgotten your Essential Self in a vain outward search for something that no one and nothing in this world could give you. After all, how can you hold a planet full of people who don’t love or accept themselves responsible for loving and accepting you?
The time has come for you to stop seeking acceptance in places you will never find it and finally surrender to the peace that you are.

You Are Enough – The Possibility
“Often, the precursor to spiritual awakening is some crisis, something that cuts through the thick layers of illusion of the ego.“
Grace powers revelation. Grace is the sacred energy that creates expansion and the possibility of recognition of your Essential Self. There is grace in every situation. It shows up in countless forms. Whether you are standing in line at a movie theater, dealing with your crying baby, mourning the death of a loved one, or in the midst of the inevitable highs and lows of marriage or divorce, the power to reveal the Essential Self is always present.
Often, the precursor to spiritual awakening is some crisis, something that cuts through the thick layers of illusion of the ego. Someone leaves you. You contract a serious illness. You have a falling-out with your closest friend. You deal with an addiction. You lose money.
And then, out of the perceived constrictions, out of the darkness you are experiencing in the external, the internal eye rouses from its slumber. It awakens to facilitate the emergence of the transcendent beauty and joy that you could not see in the chaos and perceived limitation. There is an intervention, a release, a glimmer of truth, a shift in perception. You begin to see life with new eyes and an open heart.
Sometimes you experience the crack in your egoic structure that allows the light of your Divine Essence to emerge, but you write it off. You don’t want to look into the crack because doing so is uncomfortable. You turn your attention to something else—your news feed, a drama in your life or someone else’s, the TV, or online shopping.
But there comes a time when you are curious enough to ask, “What is that?” There is a part of you that wants to look into the crack—that is the mystic in you. That is you being courageous enough to explore what seems to be the unknowable: the Essential Self. Spirituality is opening the door to grace.

You Are Enough – The Promise
“The more you achieve and acquire, the more you feel like an empty vessel waiting to be filled up“
The world—your parents, your teachers, your clan, your religion—made an agreement with you. It promised that if you live your life in the pursuit of certain milestones, if you grab the brass ring, if you achieve, you will be happy, healthy, wealthy, and wise. You will find fulfillment. You will gain love, respect, and honor. You will have “made it.” You will be accepted. Worth will be bestowed upon you.
The promise of genuine peace, joy, and fulfillment is real, but the path to revealing it is un-expected and, to most, paradoxical. It will arise from within, once you return to authenticity. It will naturally emerge when you redefine what it means to be human and, most important, when you heal what I call your core wound—your perceived unworthiness.
You see, your relationship to yourself is based on the role you have taken on in this life and other people’s reactions to that role. But a role is not the real you. It is a mere facade—a foggy, manufactured version of your true, authentic brilliance. It is like a dim fluorescent light compared to the clean, bright rays of the sun. It is not “bad,” but it is the source of limitation and disconnection in your life. You’ve created this facade in search of fulfillment and belonging, but underneath it lies a powerful and grace-filled desire for connection, love, and oneness.
For the most part, your facade was formed over time through the medium of language—what has been spoken over you and what you have been conditioned to believe.
Have you ever asked: “Why do I feel this way? I’ve done the job. I’ve played by the rules and worked hard. Now where’s the prize?”

You Are Enough – An Introduction
Do You Choose Safety over authenticity? Most of us do. For many years I did the same – I ran from my natural gifts and pursued a path that was not my own. I was in the heart of the club scene in the underground of East London with drugs, gangs, loud music, and notoriety all becoming a part of my life at that time.
For years, I pushed my true self deeper and deeper down, creating a vacuum of emptiness – a black hole within me. I constantly put myself in the path of danger to dull the pain and unhappiness that festered inside of me, until one night, when a near death experience jolted me from my insatiable desire to fit in, and changed the course of my life forever.
I finally drew a line in the sand. From that point on, I refused to live by anyone else’s terms but my own. I realized my life literally depended on it.
I was now intent on rediscovering the peace and spirituality of my childhood. While other kids in London’s East End were busy watching cartoons and playing with their friends, I spent every moment I could with my grandmother…surrounded by soft lights and incense in her meditation room. I decided to embrace my differences and sought to understand and develop my gifts…those differences and gifts that I first saw in my time with my grandmother as a child.
The universe has a knack for getting us to course-correct when we stray from our purpose…though the wake-up call is rarely a gentle one. That’s when it hits you. That’s when you finally decide that enough is enough. And your search begins. . .
But even through all of your searching, you still haven’t found your true purpose and your life lacks meaning you so desperately want to feel in your soul. I see this cycle all the time in the people who come to see me to see what’s been missing in their lives. We’re given all the information of what to do…but we’re not able to embody and express the potential that we know is available to us because we haven’t dealt with the root cause of what keeps us disconnected from our power.
That’s what inspired me to write my new book You Are Enough. This book is the bridge that will take you from simply realizing what it takes to have true meaning and fulfillment in your life…to actually seizing it and implementing it at your very core so that it’s the only way you can be.
It becomes part of you and you no longer need to chase after it.

What Does “You Are Enough” Mean?
“You are enough.”
That short phrase is one of the most powerful I can think of. So powerful that I used it as the title of my new book. Yet, I wonder if you’ve ever really thought about what it means to simply…be enough.
Society places a great deal of importance on outward success – success in the form of possessions, a big bank balance, perfect relationships, glowing, radiant health, and a secure, high-paying job. Yet, even those that have outwardly achieved immense levels of success still feel as if there is something missing from their lives. They feel as if they ARE their possessions. Their profession is their identity. They depend on their bank balance for validation.
These feelings of emptiness, dissatisfaction, and sadness occur because those external things can never take the place of your authentic self. In fact, all of the external trappings of success are actually examples of what “you are enough” does NOT mean.
You are far more than your external accomplishments, my dear friends. But from the moment you were born, you have been conditioned to be a unit of production. You’ve been separated from your emotions, been told that you’re too sensitive, that you shouldn’t become angry, that you have no reason to be sad. Your humanity has been denied and you learned that your worth is based on what you can provide. “Work hard!” they said and all will be well. In following that advice, your emotions were disregarded, and you were, essentially, mechanized.
We live in an age of consumption and not just of physical objects, but of information as well. This constant consumption reinforces the idea that a solution to all our problems lies outside of us somewhere. We look for external, surface level answers. We go to retreats, seminars, read books, seek out articles online, but nothing really changes.
That’s because the solution isn’t external. It can’t be consumed because the real answer already lives inside every one of us. The time has come to discover our true intrinsic worth.
You have been conditioned to believe that you are the problem. You are not and never have been the problem. You are not broken. You do not need fixing. All you need to do is begin to look inside yourself and become empowered as your own solution. There is always an internal resolution for anything that’s happening in your life externally. This naturally occurs when you bring resonance and harmony to an area of dissonance where you have been conditioned to deny and reject an aspect of yourself.
You see, there is a multidimensional nature to life. You are more than the roles that you play. You have the capacity to exist beyond what you have been told, beyond how you’ve been programmed, and beyond what you have been conditioned to see. You are more than a set of reactions. You are more than all of your possessions. You are more than your profession. You are, in fact, pure being and pure potential. You are awareness and peace. You are love itself.
My friend, your inner experience determines your outer reality. When you begin to embrace whatever shows up inside you, you will begin to recognize that there is nothing wrong with you. You will begin to recognize that you are worthy simply because you exist. The truth is you are priceless.
There is only one of you in all of creation. It took a miracle of biological processes to create this single-celled embryonic being and transform it into an utterly unique, multi-celled, multilayered, multidimensional version of who you are. Never question your value and don’t look to others to validate you. You are incredible, and you are here to live your journey, not someone else’s idea of what that journey should be.
This internal anchor, this reconnection with your Essential Self, is how you begin to see the myriad possibilities that surround you every day. This is how you powerfully transform your life, the lives of those around you, and the world itself. This is how you begin to evolve into the fullness of who you are so that you can move from anxiety, depression, and insecurity into peace, love, and infinite potential.
This is the true meaning of “You Are Enough”. I invite you to join me on this incredible journey of discovery to reclaim the power of your most authentic self.

Three Easy Ways To Stop Fear and Worry

Fear is one of the strongest responses our physical bodies possess. When you fear, your heart begins beating faster, your blood pressure rises, your palms start to sweat and you may feel intense anxiety. This physical response is part of the “fight or flight” mechanism that our brain and body uses to deal with danger. This extreme response is warranted if, say, we were being chased by a saber-toothed tiger. In today’s world, we rarely experience life-or-death situations such as these, but still, our bodies have held on to this response.
Many times, our negative cycle of fear and worry can bring about this response, and it can be miserable! It can last just a short period of time, or it can last for many years. Experiencing a high level of fear and worry over an extended period of time can actually change the very chemistry of our brain. For this reason, it makes sense to learn skills and techniques that can help calm our mind and body when we get too far “in our head.”
Aside from the negative physical and biological effects of fear and worry, there are myriad psychological effects as well. For instance, worrying about the future and worrying about things you simply can’t control can eliminate any positive feelings about the life you’re living right now! You get so worked up about what could happen, that you miss what is happening right before your eyes. This will greatly reduce the happiness, joy, and peace that your life should entail.
I’d like to share with you a few of the things that I practice daily, and teach to others, when it comes to experiencing fear and worry. These practices are based on science, but also on intuition. Make these three techniques a part of your day, and I know that you’ll find that you’re experiencing greatly reduced fear, worry, and anxiety. Start right now!
3 Ways to Stop Fear and Worrying
Acknowledge the Fear or Worry – Worry is simply the fear of something unknown happening in the future. Many of the worries we have are about things we have zero control over, but that certainly doesn’t mean we don’t worry! The first step to peace is by acknowledging the worry, without casting any judgement on yourself for worrying. Just acknowledge your fear the same way you’d acknowledge a bird on your windowsill. “Oh, there it is.” That’s all. No guilt, no trying to fix it, just let it be there.
Accept the Fear or Worry – Now that you’ve acknowledged the fear, accept it as a part of your consciousness. It’s neither good or bad in this situation, it’s simply a biological and psychological response to a stimulus. It can be uncomfortable to sit with these anxious feelings without trying to elicit a change in how you’re feeling, but it can be done. So just be with the fear or worry in the present moment.
Move Past the Fear or Worry – Now is the time to enlist the help of our friend, logic. Ask yourself these questions:
Is this fear based in reality or is it one of those “stories” I’ve told myself so many times that I believe it whether it’s true or not?
Is the situation I’m worrying about something that I can control?
If I can control it, am I taking action to create a positive outcome?
If I’m not taking that action, why?
If I can’t control it, why am I worrying about it?
These are the questions that will begin to eliminate the drama and emotion about the fear and worry and help you begin viewing it in logical, realistic terms. And I believe that you’ll find, by following these three tips, that you begin to eliminate worry from your life, and enjoy your life as it is TODAY!

7 Benefits of Helping Others

There are simply endless opportunities that we have daily to help others. It feels good to us to help, and it feels great to the recipient, too! Scientific studies have shown that giving of our time, energy, or money greatly helps boost all of those feel-good chemicals our brains just love.
Here are seven real benefits – backed by science – of how contributing to the lives of other people can help us find peace.
A Longer Life – If you want to enjoy a long, healthy life, start volunteering! Find out what kinds of things you can volunteer for at your childrens’ school, make scarves for the homeless, or help deliver food to those who are home-bound. Studies show that the people who contribute in these ways will actually lengthen their lives due to an increased ability to handle stress, a reduction in depression, and an increased immune system strength. The caveat is that you can’t just do it once – it needs to become a consistent part of your life in order to reap the health benefits.
Giving is Contagious – When you give to others of your time, energy, or money, it makes them want to “pay it forward” and give to others. It’s a chain reaction that has endless benefits for everyone involved!
It Just Feels Good – The simplest benefit of giving is that it just feels great to make other people happy! Alleviating someone’s sadness or loneliness by spending time with them alleviates our sadness and loneliness too. Helping feed others allows us to appreciate the blessings we have in our own lives. Something that feels this good can’t ever be bad!
Pain Relief – Chemicals such as dopamine have long been known to create pain reduction. The “feel good” part of volunteering means our brains are getting more dopamine, and that, in turn, can result in less pain for those experiencing chronic pain. So helping someone feel less pain also helps us feel less pain, too.
Decrease in Blood Pressure – Helping others has a significant effect on your blood pressure. So if you’re suffering from high blood pressure, you could seriously lower it by doing regular volunteer work. One study has shown an incredible 40% decrease in the risk of hypertension in older individuals just by being provided with more social opportunities.
Helping Young Adults – Sociologists agree that a teen that volunteers will have a healthier self-image, be more kind and compassionate, and even have better grades!
Sense of Purpose – Are you feeling as if your days have no meaning? Volunteering will help return that sense of purpose to your life, and increase your sense of self, too. This is especially true in the case of major life transitions such as children growing up and leaving home, or retiring from work. Losing those pieces of your identity can be tough, but volunteering can give you a sense of who you are and what you believe in again.

Four Ways to Find Purpose in Challenge

“If life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” so the old saying goes. Easier said than done, perhaps? I don’t think so. You see, life’s trials can be seen as horrible events that make you question, “Why me?” Or, those same trials can be seen as great opportunities to grow, expand, and evolve in ways we may not have thought possible.
So the question is: how? How do we harness the power of these challenges and turn them into amazing opportunities instead of allowing them to suck us down into the mire of negativity where we know we’ll get stuck?
Of course, everyone’s experience is going to be a bit different, but there are some basic “guidelines” to follow in order to learn to persevere in the face of adversity! To that end, here are four ways to see the opportunities among the challenges.
Remember Your Curiosity – When we were kids, everything interested us. We wanted to know the who, what, when, where, and how about everything we saw, everything we touched, or heard, or sniffed. We were so thirsty for knowledge because it was the only way we could form opinions about the world around us. As we grew, it’s likely that most of that curiosity about life took a back seat to responsibility, adulthood, jobs, and family. So let’s get back to that curiosity when it comes to challenges. Let’s embrace the possibilities that could occur if we simply move through the challenge, piece by piece, day by day, or even minute by minute. By engaging your curiosity, any challenge will seem less daunting and frightening, and more “Hey, let’s see what can happen!”
.
Attempt to Gain Perspective– Another saying – “You can’t see the forest for the trees.” And it applies here, too. Consider that your reality of the challenge is simply A reality, not THE reality. How does the situation look when you look at it objectively instead of subjectively? Being open to accepting a new viewpoint is enormously liberating, and can truly help you see a silver lining just waiting inside that challenge – and there is rarely the absence of a silver lining! Perspective can also help us understand and empathize with others that are involved in the challenge.
.
100% Honesty with Yourself – While not easy or comfortable, being completely honest with yourself about your challenges can allow you to see where you might’ve done things differently to secure a more positive outcome. These aren’t meant to be lessons in self-judgement, but they are a wonderful opportunity for learning about yourself in a very real, very effective way. Be honest about your actions, and your responsibility as it relates to your trials and struggles. Instead of placing blame, see where you might’ve acted or reacted differently.
Eliminate Your Ego – The only way you can work through your trials in order to get to the other side is by being open – being open to change, open to honesty, open to objectivity, and open to letting go of ego. This is where the real magic happens when you’re faced with adversity. When you get rid of your ego, you become ready to accept into your life the reality of any situation, and you have the opportunity to make that reality a positive one instead of a negative one. Your ego will hold you back from opening yourself up to the possibilities that come with challenges. Your ego will prevent you from looking at the situation and yourself honestly. So throw the ego out the window, and get down to some serious evolution!
