Wendy Kennar has wanted to be a writer since the second grade, when her teacher, Mrs. Jones, made her a "book" with a cover made out of yellow construction paper and filled with the "good" paper inside -- white paper with blue lines just waiting for stories.
Wendy was a public school teacher for twelve years. Her writing is largely influenced by her teaching experiences and by her son.
Wendy has never learned to whistle, loves sunflowers, and has spent her life living within the same zip code.
