I give myself at least 30 minutes to unwind and then I hop on the laptop. I set an alarm to force myself to stop. For the lunch hour writing, I'll use that small amount of time to go over my outline to see if what I wrote the night before is sticking to my overall goal. The majority of the time writing is done on the weekends. Very hard to stick with it when it's beautiful outside. However, every now and then I will take a motorcycle ride just to clear my head and relax. It just takes a lot of discipline and willpower. Of course, I'm not perfect and will fall off my goal when one of my favorite series comes on Netflix. I love Orange is the New Black. :-)(less)

Thanks for the question. It's a good one! My preference is to be in my comfy clothes (shorts and a raggedy black muscle shirt) and sitting on my bed with my laptop. I tried writing at a regular desk but had to get up a lot to stretch my legs. It also felt too much like 'work'. I like having my favorite coffee cup (decaf) by my side. It says..."Please do not annoy the writer, she may put you in a book and kill you." :-) It was a gift, made me laugh, and helps me slip into my 'author' mindset. I work full time, so I squeeze in the stories on my lunch hour, after work, and weekends. I wish I could write all day long. I absolutely love it! :-)(less)

“Now I have a guy trying to change me and I don’t want to be changed, yet I keep hanging in there, hoping that he learns to like what he sees. Isn't that the prime definition of insanity, repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome? My man-radar is busted, so you’ll have to excuse my disbelief in what you say.”
Celeste Prater, Drusus

“I need your help.” Cassie rolled her eyes at the response from the phone held tightly to her ear. “No. I’m behaving myself and I’m definitely not in jail. It was one time Lina, just one friggin’ time and you’ll never let it go, will you? Well, she deserved to get her ass punched. No one talks to my friend that way and walks away without something damaged or throbbing on them. Okay, you’re welcome.”

“I’m not your sweetness and I’m getting god damn tired of men telling me to calm down. I’m scared shitless and have a weapon at your throat. You better be glad I’m not on my period, too. I would’ve just stabbed you and started looking for some chocolate. Unless you start explaining, the only way I’m going to calm down is if you’re the one bleeding and I’m twenty miles the fuck away from here."
--Luna Jasper upon her first waking encounter with Cato”
