A Quip from THE ROMANTICS by Stephanie Queen

Stephanie QueenHappy New Year!
It's going to be a fabulous year for readers with books abounding and deals everywhere! I love it - because I LOVE BOOKS!

In the meantime, I wanted to share a Quip, since Quipping from the Queendom is what I'm all about (when I'm not busy doing anything else).
NOTE: I'm using the term "Quip" interchangeably with the terms "Clip" or "Short Excerpt".

This is our erstwhile hero from THE ROMANTICS in action. Joe Allario is a big bad bodyguard posing as a U.S. Air Force helicopter pilot in London:

"The only sane thing he could think to say was, 'Introduce me to your friends, Lady Ronnie.' He looked away from her brilliant aura to save himself from turning to stone--or at least certain parts of him--and flashed his woman-charmer smile at her friends."

Not sure who's charming who here--well, actually I am pretty sure since I wrote it, but you might need to read more to know.

More Quips from THE ROMANTICS soon! We'll hear from Lady Ronnie next time.

Excerpt from the upcoming Beachcomber Heat novel

Hello Everyone,

Hope you're enjoying the spring and looking forward to summertime. I'm looking forward to the summer, hot weather and the beach.
And most of all - "beach reads"!
I have a novel set to be released in July and perfect for summertime reading: Beachcomber Heat .

I have an excerpt to tempt you. But if you want an even more tempting tidbit, visit me on my Facebook Stephanie Queen page or website Stephanie Queen for the video version of the reading!

Here's the Excerpt from Beachcomber Heat :

As she got out of the car Shana tossed the phone back into her bag and frowned at him. But this wasn’t her usual frown of general disapproval or annoyance, it was worry.
“What did your brother want?”
“Mum wants to come for a visit—here—at the end of the summer.”
“Cool. Problem?”
“Yes. They already booked the flight and I’ll have to find somewhere for them to stay.”
At least that meant Shana was staying until September.
“What’s the problem?”
“I’m not sure where they got the money for the flight—he gave me some story about winning a sweepstakes. Sounded fishy.”
It was a fishy story. Dane knew this because he was the fish in charge of the sweepstakes and her mother had been the only entrant.
“Don’t look a gift horse—”
“I’ll have to find a place of my own in the fall—something bigger than Mrs. Jones’s studio where I stayed last year—”
“Don’t go starting with that again. Your mother and brothers can all stay at the shack. Plenty of room. We’ll double up and—”
“Now don’t you go starting that again.”
“Let’s not have this discussion in the street.”
She pushed past him, and went inside. The whoosh of cold air was a relief from the heat, but not as much a relief as ending that line of discussion. Dane had until September to convince her to stay with him. He had until September to convince himself he could handle her staying with him.
Emma assaulted them, sweeping Shana into a French hug and kiss—distant and for show—and they disappeared into the recesses of the shop. Dane wandered in the direction of the dressing room to have a seat and watch his favorite show—Shana parading for him in sexy dresses—when he bumped into a petite, dark-haired woman.
He was not a clumsy person and not unaware of his surroundings, which meant that the woman had purposely taken him by surprise and run into him with a goal in mind. She looked up and he saw brown eyes swimming in mirth.
With a flirty French accent, she said, “I was wondering when I might run into you.”

More to come soon!
Thank you for reading,
Stephanie Queen

Bad Boy Romance Anyone?

He Has Charm - coming soon...
Excerpt:

Maddox
"If I'd known there was a camera running, I swear I would have kept my clothes on.
But how was I supposed to know? I was blindfolded."

Long story short, my life of bachelorhood fun, otherwise known as debauchery, unchecked except by hockey--though maybe playing in the NHL actually enhanced the-more-women-the-merrier lifestyle--whatever, said lifestyle came to a sudden halt when the unplanned video went viral, spreading the exploits of my blindfolded birthday adventure far and wide. Now I'm known better as the porn star of the NHL than one of its leading scorers.

Traded and sentenced to spending the remainder of the season being watch-dogged by one of the most serious jailers--I mean agents--I've ever met, Harper the jailer tells me I need to pretend I'm a monk. Too bad she also happens to be temptation in a pin-striped suit sent to test my resolve with her sweet buns.
But it's only for four months, so I can contain my lust, right? Concentrate on hockey and winning and ignore sugar buns. Easy, right?

Problem is there's a lot more to Harper than sugar and buns...
