Bombay Hangovers played at NCPA, Mumbai.

So, the recordings of the Play: 3 Tales from Bombay Hangovers at NCPA, Mumbai is finally here.

For all those who couldn’t visit NCPA on 23rd Nov 2023. Why, even I missed witnessing this magic because I was at the NFDC Film Bazaar Goa. I wish I could bi-locate, be wave and particle, but until then!

Do share your thoughts after you watch it. The Actors [Students of St. Xavier’s Mumbai] were amazing! They brought my characters and stories to life!

‘Catharsis’ – my short film script, shortlisted, Highly Commended.

So gleeful to learn that my short film script ‘Catharsis’ has been shortlisted at the 2023 International Literary Prize, Hammond House, UK.

Stories and extracts from scripts will be published in the 2024 Short Story anthology. Prizes will be awarded at the International Literary Festival in February 2024.

https://www.hammondhouse.org.uk/literary-prize-shortlist and then I got news it was a Highly Commended entry. So it was essentially 4th place after the Top 3! Feels absolutely great about this art form that I so enjoy writing in!

Me@NFDC Film Bazaar, Goa 2023

So the Goa NFDC Film Bazaar was an overwhelming maiden experience with 2 of my projects selected in the Top 30 of the Book-to-Box Office vertical (BTBO).

I remember going to HAF Hong Kong after my 2018 NFDC Screenwriter’s Lab, so I had missed Goa then.

I met too many interesting new people and old friends and forgot to click pictures, flowing with the moment.

So here are just a few.

My poem ‘Confluence’ in the review of ‘Greening the Earth: A Global Anthology of Poetry’.

Basudhara Roy Chatterjee’s comprehensive and poignant review in Borderless Journal of ‘Greening the Earth: A Global Anthology of Poetry’ (ed.: K. Satchidanandan and Nishi Chawla), published by Penguin Random House also makes mention of my poem ‘Confluence’ that she reads so resonantly.

“Rochelle Potkar’s ‘Confluence’ raises concern regarding the legal personhood and rights of our natural environment. Embodying the spirit of the ‘Rights of Nature’ movement that believes in the right of every ecosystem to flourish without victimisation by humans, the poem makes a strong case for the rights of water bodies which are relentlessly drained, contaminated, and exploited by human activities, its opening line being highly potent in its irony.”

Thank you, Basudhara for an astute reading of the book.

The review –

Anthem of Hope
