Georgia Bell was raised on a steady diet of science fiction and fantasy, courtesy of her father, a man who loved his family, fishing, scotch, and science (although not necessarily in that order). Georgia is an avid reader of young adult fiction, and a lover of good wine, music, children, and cats (although not necessarily in that order).

This Week in Navel Gazing 3.0

1. Veronica Mars. You saw the trailer, right? And the movie poster? If you haven't (and if you care) stop reading now and go watch. My hopes are high and this trailer has done little to diminish them. I can't wait to see how it all plays out on the big screen, but for now I'm just so glad to get a glimpse of my old friends. Mac! Piz! Dick! Wallace! And yes, of course, Logan. Logan + Veronica =... Read more of this blog post »

Never Never by Colleen Hoover
Georgia Bell is 35% done with Crash into You: Follows along in the same vein as the other two. Two people from different worlds, drawn together with forces beyond their control trying to keep them apart. What I'm NOT enjoying is the description and depiction of Rachel's panic attacks. This feels poorly researched to me. This is NOT really how panic attacks play out in real life.

“There was something about the possession of a book that was important to me. Owning it gave me proprietary rights on the story. It meant that I could read as quickly or as slowly as I liked. No expectations, no deadlines, no proscriptions on bent spines or crumpled pages. I was not gentle on my books. I read while I ate, I read in the bathtub. At night, I rolled over on top of my books that had fallen between the covers as I dozed. For me, the worn pages and tattered covers were a sign of devotion. Like the Velveteen Rabbit, the books I read were only real when they were loved. And I understood that love was not always gentle.”

“Reagan was sitting up at Cath's desk when Cath woke up.
"Are you awake?"
"Have you been watching me sleep?"
"Yes, Bella. Are you awake?"
"No.”

“But you're so helpless sometimes. It's like watching a kitten with its head trapped in a Kleenex box.”

“I feel sorry for you, and I'm going to be your friend."
"I don't want to be your friend," Cath said as sternly as she could. "I like that we're not friends."
"Me, too. I'm sorry you ruined it by being so pathetic.”
Rainbow Rowell, Fangirl

“There came a time when you realized that moving on was pointless. That you took yourself with you wherever you went.”

Seriously, how can I not accept your friend invite after that? Hahaha! And because you love Angelfall and Goodreads says that our tastes are 77% similar, I think it is only right to say that...

my newest book buddy.

Rashika (is tired) Angelfall was one of my favorites from last year and I cannot wait to read the sequel (which comes out in a couple of weeks so YAY!!!)
I am one of the bad guys who haven't read LOTR. I attempted The Hobbit but it didn't work out so well for me.
