Although Nicole studied journalism at Purchase College, she can't quit writing fiction, which she enjoys a great deal more anyway. She's just starting to get her work out there, and she hopes this will be the start of a long, enjoyable career.

When she's not writing or working her 9–5 job as a senior production editor, she is usually reading and subsequently having thoughts and feelings about books. She documents most of those in her Goodreads reviews, mostly for her own record because she has a terrible memory.

When she's not reading, she is wasting time on the Internet or annoying her cats. She leads a busy life, as you can tell.

Solid 4.5 stars. It took me a little bit to get into the book at the start, I think because I'm not much into war or religion and one of the main characters' life involves those two things kind of a lot.

But after the first few chapters I blew through

I'm predisposed to enjoy all of these stories because they are very similar to The Left Hand of Darkness in many ways; I can see how Le Guin was exploring a lot of the same themes, but mingling them with different ones.

It took me the longest to get t
