Wedding
I am finally posting some wedding photos! I got married to my partner of six years this summer solstice on June 21st. I couldn't be happier. Joey makes me a better person, artist, and writer.
Joey and I had the same idea: we wanted nature and classic simplicity. Since I work as an artist, I planned the wedding details, choosing decors and flowers and other elements.
This photo was taken by my friend Erica during the sunset after the ceremony and dinner. I love it:

Invites! Inviting our family and close friends to our nature wedding, occurring during the summer solstice:
Reception decor. We wanted to keep it simple and elegant with the classic white and light colors.
Favors! We came up with air plants since we are plant lovers and our house is full of them. Gotta share the love:
Our cake! We wanted something simple and pure which is a theme throughout our wedding. The bird cake topper was perfect for us because we love birds. We spend sunny mornings drinking coffee and watching the birds hang out in our yard:
Getting ready! For my wedding dress I wanted something classic and elegant:
The Tamarack Trio played their beautiful string instruments for our ceremony. Joey and I love going to the symphony and listening to classical music so this was very special to us.
Both Joey and I are nature lovers. It meant so much to us to be married in a natural setting. As a child, I always imagined I'd be married on a sunny day full of flowers.
For a portion of my childhood, I grew up in a forest of birch trees in the alps of Japan. The forest of white trees that became especially ethereal during the snow season is forever engraved in my heart. It meant a lot to me to be married among similar trees.
What a day!

Video Games - Halo 5 Opening
Hope you guys got a chance to see my team's work on the Halo 5 opening. If not, here it is below:
It's been a huge honor working with the amazing cinematic team the past year. I've always wanted to gain experience with cinematics and am proud to have been a part of a high quality sci-fi production.

SWORD - Cover!
I hope you guys enjoyed the cover reveal last week! In case you missed it, here it is:
I wanted this cover to be super red with fire. Once you read SWORD, you'll understand why. We often see this pose--a very classic and icon pose of hero taking his destiny--on a male character (Arthur or knights) and it's cool for me to see Morgan le Fay as the hero.

News Week - 08/10/15
Cover reveal for SWORD is scheduled for 08/19 on Candace's blog! Contact her if you'd like to be a part of the reveal! I've got one more week left until I turn in SWORD to my copyeditor. I've also received my first round of revision notes for my picture book from my dev editor!
Have I done anything besides work this summer? Why yes!
I watched the Blue Angels:
My husband and I have been going on picnic dates when the symphony is playing in one of our local parks:
I went to my second Hal Sparks show. He is hilarious and I love his standup. Go see him live! I also got a photo with him.
Seattle Asian Art Museum has a calligraphy exhibit. I love calligraphy! I'll be doing some calligraphy art for one of my projects soon and this definitely inspired me.
Celebrated the rare blue moon with Blue Moon beer and Blue Moon burger. Most excellent Friday thing to do.
Our local theater did a limited run of When Marnie Was There. I recommend the movie. It had good honest storytelling and featured a great bond between two characters. I love seeing movies that aren't overly commercialized.

News Week - 07/27/15
I'm very excited to be back in Morgan le Fay's Camelot. Finally the back cover copy for SWORD is here. It will be revealed tomorrow! If you haven't read the first book HENGE yet, I hope you'll check it out! For those who read HENGE, the copy won't contain major spoilers.I am trying to decide on an illustration from the Le Fay Series for a limited edition t-shirt. Do you have any picks? It will be for a white t-shirt.
In other news:
-The picture book is going through revision now.
-I'm finding the first draft of a new novel very promising.
-I am preparing SWORD for copyedit.
-The cover art should be revealed within 3 weeks.
