Honeymoon - Part 3: Athens and Paris

I'm very saddened by what happened to beautiful Paris this month. I couldn't stop thinking about it. The tragedy struck near where I stayed in Paris just several months ago and to imagine the terror... it made me horrified to think of what everyone went through. I'm wishing for love and peace worldwide. In Seattle our skyscrapers are decorated with lights to honor France.

"Love is the Key"

Today I thought I'd share some photos from Paris. I'm so glad I finally got to go there this year. Definitely one of the top cities I've wanted to visit.

On the way to France, we stopped by Athens for a day, which was definitely worth it to see the Acropolis.

We only got to spend two days in Paris on our way back to Seattle. Two days was certainly not enough. There's so much to do there. We went to the opera house, catacombs, Moulin Rouge, Notre Dame, Louvre, and Pont des Arts. The whole time I only ate meat, cheese, and bread. (By the way I had my health check up and blood work right after the trip and guess what? Super awesome health! I noticed the wines there did not give me the wine headache due to no chemicals. The Europeans have their food and drinks right, that's for sure.)
Our time in Paris was very busy as we tried to do as much as possible in the gorgeous city. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so much visual splendors. We also met some very warm people there. Some of my favorite memories are sitting at the bar to enjoy wonderful drinks and food while soaking the ambience.

Once we got on the plane to head back to Seattle I shed some tears because the trip was so great and it was overwhelming that it was over.

Thank you for being awesome, France. We love you.

News Week - 11/16/15

First review of SWORD is in! Check it out here.

"All the plot twists in this novel are enough to give me a heart attack. While I can't reveal them for obvious reasons, just know that this book will take you on an amazingly epic journey that will leave in a state of shock by just how freaking amazing it it."--Riv (Forever Obsession)
SWORD book blitz is running this week with a giveaway (gift card and ebooks)! Hope you win something!

Peek at the Kindle version of SWORD:

In other news, I took a class run by Annie Pearson and learned about organizing my manuscript using MS Word tools. Super useful! You can control your manuscript on the first page of the Word doc if you learn to set it up. Also seems like a useful way to create a super outline. If you are interested in learning about it, check out her webpage where she posts the info.

SWORD - Release Day!

Yipee! SWORD is officially out. If you'd like to have the best reading experience, I recommend avoiding spoilers in reviews. It's a super pivotal point in Morgan le Fay's journey. HENGE was an introduction to get to this story that I've been wanted tell for a long time. I wrote this draft five years and am so thrilled to finally be able to share it.

This is the most fun manuscript I've worked on and certainly my favorite so far in the Le Fay Series. I sincerely hope you will enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed working on this.

As stated in the acknowledgment... THANK YOU GUYS!

Go get a copy of SWORD!

Party on! SWORD inspired playlist:

Here are some of my personal notes on the songs:
Eternal -- One my favorite instrumental pieces. Sums up Sword perfectly.
Immigrant Song -- The opening to the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is gorgeous. I love love it. Dark imagery with water and fire certainly is inspire-worthy for this series.
Stole my Fame -- Heard this while writing Sword. Such a perfect Morgan & Merlin song.
Feel it in My Bones -- This song reminds me of when Morgan le Fay learns love.
Clubbed to Death -- I want this series to be epic, dramatic... like this song!
Castle of Chaythe -- Dark. Haunting. Totally got me in the mood to write some dark stuff for this book.
Dark Dark Heart -- Could be applied to most of my stories. What can I say?

Lotsa work! I got myself this lil reward:

If you've already begun reading, my advice: Keep calm and keep reading. Happy reading!

Sincerely Yours,

SWORD - Sneak Peek Part 2!

I found another sneak peek scene from SWORD! This is within the first 50 pages and features Morgan and Merlin. You can read the whole book one week from today!

As I walk away, adrenaline runs through me. My dress blazes behind me like fire as I march toward him. The crowd parts for me as if I’m electric.I take a breath and focus on Merlin. He stands in the middle of a crowd and is talking to a Relic Keeper. Squeezing past people, I approach him. When he sees me he does a double take before settling on a questioning and wary look.“Congratulations,” I say, extending my hand.Everyone stares at us. Some begin to whisper amongst themselves. The Relic Keeper walks away. Merlin doesn’t seem to notice—he is too consumed with staring at my hand as if it’s a knife. Slowly, he takes it. I keep a tight grip so he can’t pull away.“Thank you,” Merlin says, barely audible. “I’m overwhelmed.”He tries to release his hand from my grasp.I step closer to him and lower my voice. “Everyone is staring. This is humiliating for me. I didn’t see the invite so I didn’t know we were supposed to wear blue.”“Don’t worry about it.”“I thought you’d like to know that I decided to take your advice.”Merlin blinks in surprise before giving me the smallest smile of relief, understanding my meaning. “I’m glad.”“So let’s say good-bye.” I step away, still holding his hand, and curtsy. “Please put on a show of peace. Dance with me. It’s not true what you said, about me not liking you.”Merlin hesitates before nodding weakly. He’s shaky as he guides me into a dance. Everyone watches us with interest, especially Vivian as she continues to play her violin.“Still uneasy?” I ask.Merlin winces and then sighs. “You said all those nice things earlier, but your energy is aggressive. I feel your fire magic through your hand.”My brow twitches. “So? Isn’t it what you do as well? Hide feelings under nice words?”“You’re still angry.”My dancing becomes more mechanical as frustration sets in. He sure knows how to ruin the amicable mood.

This is just a hint of their tumultuous rival-friend relationship... Get ready for more! Tomorrow I am posting the art preview, so please come back to visit again tomorrow! Xo
