31 Days to Fruitful Living — Day 5
Weeds hinder the growth of a fruit tree. In order to protect the fruit, you must physically uproot and remove the offensive weed. This is a constant battle because “there will always be weeds.” As soon as you pull one pesky weed out, another one seems to appear over night. Vigilant weed control is necessary.
Have you examined your weedy heart lately? Are there shoots of bitterness or pride springing up and competing for space in your soul? You must root out these pesky invaders. They do not belong.
“Keep a sharp eye out
for weeds of bitter discontent.
A thistle or two gone to seed
can ruin a whole garden in no time.”
Hebrew 12:15
Q4U: Do you have tips on how to effectively combat weeds from taking root in your heart?
Come back tomorrow for Day 6 of “31 Days to Fruitful Living.” We will chat about how pruning helps promote growth. I may have a black thumb, but I am determined to learn how to cultivate my spiritual life.
Thanks for stopping by! I would love to connect with you on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.
