Hello Wolfe! I never saw this question, please forgive the lag in time.
I started writing when I was a teenager, tragic, melodramatic poetry. then moved on to short short stories in my 20s, and then journaling into my 40s when I started writing short stories and viola! Novels.
I hope your holiday was wonderful and that you are looking forward to a happy new year. Cheers, Mindy(less)

However, on the rare occasion that I'm blocked I take a pen and pad of paper (old school writing) and go sit in a coffee shop. There is something about the buzz of human interaction that sparks my pen.(less)

The Timeless Poetry of Song

We all have a song that when we hear the first notes, we either jump to the dance floor, or (if there’s no dance floor available) our eyes close, our pulse calms or races. Or we turn up the radio and dance in the kitchen because we recognize it like a long-lost lover who still tickles our fancy and sings poetry to our soul. Or maybe that’s just me ….

For me, that song that makes time stand still wa

To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
“It was love, she thought, love that never clutch its object; but, like the love which mathematicians bear their symbols, or poets their phrases, was meant to be spread over the world and become part of human gain. The world by all means should have shared it, could Mr Bankes have said why that woman pleased him so; why the sight of her reading a fairy tale to her boy had upon him precisely the same effect as the solution of a scientific problem.”
Virginia Woolf
“Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong…it is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum not as two opposing sets of ideas.”
Emma Watson

“Not that the story need be long, but it will take a long while to make it short.”
- Henry David Thoreau

Barbara Kingsolver
“Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.”
Barbara Kingsolver

Anne Lamott
“In general…there’s no point in writing hopeless novels. We all know we’re going to die; what’s important is the kind of men and women we are in the face of this.”

Lloyd Alexander
“Child, child, do you not see? For each of us comes a time when we must be more than what we are.”
