Phil Hamman is the co-author of the #1 national best selling true crime book Gitchie Girl. He also has two memoirs published by eLectio Publishing that profile his struggles to rise above a dysfunctional childhood marked with domestic violence and poverty. One serendipitous night drove him from his criminal path and put him on the road to becoming a teacher who mentored and taught students with behavior disorders.

Phil Hamman I'm fortunate that this doesn't seem to be a problem for me. I don't like leaving things unfinished, so I just dig in and start writing.

Yet no one knew the inside story of that night as the lone survivor, Sandra, refused all interviews on the topic as well as requests to write her story. One of the boys murdered that night had been my childhood best friend, and because of this Sandra eventually approached me to tell her story. She'd kept this story painfully trapped inside for too long. When she finally released her incredible tale, she felt the healing begin after 40 years of suffering silently. Along with my wife, the co-author, we are privileged to bring you this powerful story that reveals the strength of the human spirit.(less)

This is an interesting look at the special forces missions in Vietnam. It is well-written, but I wish there had been more live action battle stories.
