Kyle Warner is afraid of almost everything, especially writing an author's bio. His books include Death's Good Intentions, The Man with the Devil's Tongue, and the forthcoming kaiju thriller In the Shadow of Extinction. When not writing, Kyle enjoys reading a good book, watching movies, and cheering for the Chicago Bears. He lives in Illinois.

... Okay, gotta shrug off the third person BS. It's suffocating.

Hey, I'm Kyle. Nice to meet you.

I love fiction & film and have always been attracted to darker, weirder stories. Stuff like comic books, Godzilla movies, brooding anti-heroes, and monsters of every shape and size. My own creative work has been greatly influenced by these types of books and movies.

I also write the occasional book review

Michael Hicks
Michael Hicks is 71% done with The Border: Some thoughts: Eddie Ruiz and his thoughts about his families are freaking hilarious. Dennison = Trump to perfection; all Winslow had to do was transcribe the ignorant orange fucknugget and there’s that character. Now onto a section titled Bad Hombres.

"Ah, the fascination of traveling in time.  I dived into this novel prepared to be taken away.  Alas, this was not the case.  I respect the research that went into it, but there was so much description that I got bogged down with it.  The pictures..." Read more of this review »

Spoiler alert: I'm still fucked up.
This is a pretty good read. Blunt, funny, insightful. I'm not certain it will turn my life around but I will attempt to put its lessons to good use. Because, why not?
Recommended.

“They very well might, but you don’t have to join them.”
Kyle Warner, Brain Mold

“What would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark? It would be like sleep without dreams.”
Werner Herzog

“Our works in stone, in paint, in print, are spared, some of them, for a few decades or a millennium or two, but everything must finally fall in war, or wear away into the ultimate and universal ash - the triumphs, the frauds, the treasures and the fakes. A fact of life: we're going to die. "Be of good heart," cry the dead artists out of the living past. "Our songs will all be silenced, but what of it? Go on singing." Maybe a man's name doesn't matter all that much.”
Orson Welles

“...to all the monsters in my nursery: May you never leave me alone.”
Guillermo Del Toro, The Strain

“They wanted to have a good time, but they were like children playing in the street; they could see one after another of them being killed--run over, maimed, destroyed--but they continued to play anyhow.”
Philip K. Dick, A Scanner Darkly

“To be an artist means never to avert one's eyes.”
Akira Kurosawa
