“You were the one choice I made for myself. And that one choice was taken away from me, because the night I realized I was in love with you was the same night you left.”
Annette K. Larsen, Just Ella

“I had spent a great deal of time in the library, getting lost in the worlds created in books while avoiding the world I lived in”
Annette K. Larsen

“he’s the other half of my heart.” I shrugged a little, knowing it sounded fanciful and romanticized. “I can’t be myself without him.”

“Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! - I have as much soul as you, - and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you!”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

“People liked religion but they didn't want to have to exercise any faith. Religion was comforting with all its structure and its rules. It made people feel safe. But faith wasn't safe. Faith was hard and uncomfortable and forced people to step out on a limb.”
