Married and bringing up four children during her twenties and thirties, K T Bowes reserved her storytelling for them.

She emigrated to New Zealand in 2006 with her family on a one way ticket. They arrived with just one suitcase each. The international bestselling Hana Du Rose Mysteries began shortly afterwards, hammered out on an old laptop used for Skyping family back home.

Since then, she has published more than twenty five books ranging from women's literature through teen series, to a fantasy trilogy.

The author has given interviews to That's Life Magazine and the BBC during her writing career. Each of her first in series novels are free to readers on all digital platforms.

It was the first time my mother let me go to town with 2 of my friends without an adult. We caught the bus in and he took us from outside the market hall by pretending he was a policeman and saying we were in trouble. He said we'd been seen shoplifting. I knew we hadn't because we only just got off the bus. He used his assumed authority to move us quite a distance but I drew the line at getting in his car. It's where I learned the stark truth about fighting back. We think we'll defend ourselves but in reality, fear takes over and we don't. We freeze and then do what they say. My friends were like lambs to the slaughter. I hung back and was the first to get away. I've used that exact event and all the emotions surrounding it heaps of times in my novels. A different character and a different location, but always the same terror.(less)
K.T. Bowes I would go to the Island of Melitto in A Keeper's War and walk through the palace gardens.

This was very clever. Clean, wholesome and with a solid plot. At one point, I honestly couldn't work out whodunit and I am usually the ending party pooper.

A great read. Really engaging series. Loved Erin.

Absolutely loved this story. Fun, light hearted and with a fantastic plot. Love the Scottish element and it includes horses. What more can I ask for?
