Stephani Maari Booker of Minneapolis writes prose and poetry for the page and for performance in which she wrestles with her multiple marginalized identities: African American, lesbian, lower-class.

She holds a B.A. in English-Professional and Technical Writing (minor in Sociology) from the University of Memphis—magna cum laude, with honors in English—and an M.F.A. in Writing (nonfiction concentration) from Hamline University of St. Paul, MN.

Stephani is on page 94 of 160 of The Devil Finds Work: Skipped passages about "The Defiant Ones" and "In the Heat of the Night" because I like those movies too much to read criticism of them. Plus skipped reading about "Birth of a Nation" because I don't need to read anything about that racist flick.
