Stephani Maari Booker of Minneapolis writes prose and poetry for the page and for performance in which she wrestles with her multiple marginalized identities: African American, lesbian, lower-class.

She holds a B.A. in English-Professional and Technical Writing (minor in Sociology) from the University of Memphis—magna cum laude, with honors in English—and an M.F.A. in Writing (nonfiction concentration) from Hamline University of St. Paul, MN.

Wildlife in the urban garden

A brown dragonfly sits atop a wooden stake set among a mound of stonecrop plants with yellow buds and some flowers.

I’ve written in a previous blog how much I love dragonflies.
