That's possibly because I'm lucky, but I don't think so. Too many other writers whom I respect say that they don't believe in it either.

The key - at least for me - seems to be always thinking about stories and writing. I don't wait until I'm at the keyboard; I'm taking in inspiration and thinking about it all the time: in the car, in the shower, before I fall asleep. By the time I sit to write, I already know more or less what I want to say (though it's important and fun to leave room for surprises!).(less)

Pretty in Pink: The TV Series | Freshman Year: Sixteen Candles


I think it would be fun to name the various seasons of my hypothetical Pretty in Pink TV series after the John Hughes movies that inspire them.
