I've already started Hope and Red and am loving it. It's a fantasy world of islands and seafarers, which are exactly my thing, but it's also fast-paced and I'm in love with the characters.(less)

That's possibly because I'm lucky, but I don't think so. Too many other writers whom I respect say that they don't believe in it either.

The key - at least for me - seems to be always thinking about stories and writing. I don't wait until I'm at the keyboard; I'm taking in inspiration and thinking about it all the time: in the car, in the shower, before I fall asleep. By the time I sit to write, I already know more or less what I want to say (though it's important and fun to leave room for surprises!).(less)

Too soon to tell what I'm going to think of the plot, but I like the main character and the art is fantastic. The design of the creature is both spooky and affecting. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
