Published in 2018. Former Marine Lieutenant Peter Ash is trying to adjust to life as a civilian, but it’s not easy. Although his PTSD has improved, he still has trouble in close spaces, claustrophobia as it’s known. He calls it white static because that’s what it feels like. He’s taken a job with Henry, an old friend and Vietnam Vet, who is helping his daughter, Elle with her business. She runs the Heavy Metal Protection Company by herself. Her husband is missing and she has three kids. Peter, Henry, and two other men must escort a load of cash to a safe place.

Growing and selling recreational marijuana has just become legal in Colorado, but it’s still a federal crime. Consequently, the banks won’t handle the money and everything is done in cash. Unfortunately, someone knows the timing and the route and ambushes the team on the way. Out of the four team members, only Peter survives and he vows to find out who was behind it.

This is the second time I’ve met Peter Ash although the author has three books out. He’s a doggedly determined Marine who cares for his team and is willing to give his all. I like him. He’s having a tough time adjusting to life but I have confidence he’ll get there with the help of his friends. There’s a lot of action in this book and the pace is fast. I’m an adrenaline junkie and really enjoyed this book.
