Variety Required
There is one sure fire way I know of that means I can get 3,000-words or more a day, and that, it variety.(Love this from marriedtothesea.com - it speaks to my writer's soul)I know there are people out there who work on one book at a time. That's awesome. I cannot physically do it. If I get to a place where the words refuse to flow, I need to have someting to fall back on.Yesterday, I worked on 4

What "Finished" Means To Me
I get to say "I finished a book" a lot. That's partially because I've written a heavy handful of novels, but also because "Finished" means a lot of things to me.I finish a book when I've completed the first draft... and the second, and the third... and so on.So, yesterday I posted that I finished a book on my FB page. What I meant that time was I finalized draft 10 (It's been a painful process

Tyler's Book Birthday!
The second full length novel in my Flynn Monroe series is out today. The Reformation fo Tyler Harris picks up shortly after the first book ended, and takes you on his next adventure.
Stuck on a dead space station, dismantling it from within and playing nanny to a host of the Colarium’s delinquents, Flynn Monroe can only think of two things that could make his job worse. He gets both. When

First Update of April
Words Written: 10,311
Since I didn't have any words scheduled this week (I'm working on a revision and I gave myself the week to get back into the swing of things), I'd say that's a pretty fantastic count.
For the most part, those words were added to the manuscript I'm revising, to the 3rd novel in the Flynn series or to what I've deemed "brain wash" writing. The stuff I use to wash my brain out

Sometimes I Forget
Sometimes, I forget. It's an easy thing to do, and so I often find myself having to take a step back and reevaluate things from other people's perspective. Sometimes, they just can't do things on my schedule. It's not because they're slow, or anything like that. It's because they have different priorities. Writing is almost a compulsive behavior for me anymore. I carry a pen and paper with me

Back on the Revision Wagon
Revisions happen.I think I need to get that on a shirt. Yesterday I was supposed to start my latest round of revisions on a novel that is a ton of fun, and is not in my Flynn Monroe series. If things hadn't gotten suddenly busy yesterday, I probably would have gotten the chapters on my to-do list done. I didn't. But I'm going to restart today!I've got 6 chapters with me and a 7 page change plan

An End to Book Reviews?
I've got a backlog of books I've finished but haven't yet reviewed. And I'm not sure how to get back on top of them. I think once I got over 7 books read without reviews, I should have realized it was going to be ridiculously difficult to get back on track with them. There is every probability that you'll see a review pop up here and there. In fact, because my brain likes to be contrary there is a

Back at the Grindstone... Sort Of
This week, I'm back at work. Normally, that would mean I'm back on a writing schedule, but when you take a week and a half off, things pile up, so I'm still technically on a writing vacation. I've only got an hour before work and my lunch hour as "free time" for sure, and right now, I'm using that "before hour" to write this blog post.Really, my goal for this week is to get myself organized and
