At One's Pleasure will be out tomorrow.
This last month has been crazy busy. Mom's back pain, writing "At One's Pleasure", working my day job (when mom wasn't in need) and then trying to get "Keeping her" out in Print and other e formats. I have found that sleep is a precious commodity we can live without, but then we get that dry, prickly, "what was I saying?" feeling that is a lot like medicine head, only without the passing out and sleeping for days. (Though that sounds good right about now.)
But... Keeping her is out, At One's Pleasure is at the publisher (woo-hoo!), and my mom is sleeping through the night. (Again with more emphasis Woo-Hoo!) Plus my boss came back from vacation and I was finally able to give "official" notice without feeling like I was abandoning them. They have had weeks to get someone else, time to GET SOMEONE ELSE.
So tonight I sleep, tomorrow I read something I did not write (Because to do otherwise is to deny my SOUL.), then I jump into "The Journey," in hopes I can make up some lost ground and get it done by early November. Then December is Beatrice and Douglas (Sigh, Douglas Bruce.) Then in the new year its Web of Bones for my Dragon fans (and because General Solan is calling me.)
Then Claiming Her.
And somewhere in there I am going to catch a movie, re-join the gym, and take up Yoga. Plus my dog really needs a bath.

It's done and off to the editor.
"At One's Pleasure" is done! And I am happy to say it's longer, quite a bit longer actually, and really good. I certainly enjoyed it anyway. While it's not in the straight "keeping her" line, we do get to see some cameo's, as I've mentioned before. Namely Cleo gets to shine, and Logan has his part. (I firmly believe that every story is made better with the addition of a hot cowboy.)
And we are introduced to Isabella, formerly Miley Isabella Rose, the romantic interest of Lucas Gibbs.
Besides that, I love these characters on their own merit and I hope you do to. I'll keep you posted on the release date. As soon as I get it back from the editor I will release it on Kindle.
On another note the paperback book form of "Keeping Her" will be released on October 10th. I'll have a link to place on the website and facebook when it's ready. Also Keeping Her will be released on all the other ereaders soon after that.

Updates and info
Mom came out of her surgery just fine. Today is day one of recovery so we will see.
On the writing front, I have been writing as much as I can between doctor visits so I will have "At Ones Pleasure" done this week and then it goes to the editor so keep a look out for the new release e-mail. For my stalkers, and you know who you are, I have posted an new excerpt of the Contemporary Romance "Beatrice and Douglas," if you are interested to see what my romances are like that don't have shapeshifters.
And, just because you need your "fix"

I haven't blogged in a great while...
My mom is doing well, in case you were curious. She had her MRI and is just waiting for the procedure to lift her spine back up off the nerves. Apparently they can do that these days with an aspirin and superglue so we are refusing to worry about it. We'll just be glad when its over and she is pain free and not medicated to the gills and occasionally insane.
I wanted to thank everyone who sent good wishes and prayers, and especially those who shared stories of their own circumstances or past circumstances that were similar to my own. My prayers are flying right back your way.
I will be finished with "At Ones Pleasure" this week and then it goes to the editor. So that will be out really early October. Yay!
Again, this is a hot one so beware. Three Alpha males mated to one Alpha female who just found out she's part wolf. Not directly Keeping Her Series, but their security detail will certainly be familiar to you. (and yes, these four are a part of a biological imperative-Like the wolves of yore.)
I know some of you will be upset (and some of you will be happy, namely my dragon fans.) but it looks like, besides "The Journeys End" scheduled for November, "Web Of Bones"(Dragon Mage Series), is going to be my next project, and not "Claiming Her" which is Lucas Gibbs story.
CALM DOWN! I have no choice! Melly and General Solan are tromping through my imagination something fierce and the heart wants what the heart wants. So suck it up. Besides, trust me when I say: General Solan, yum.
My final news is that I just got my proofs for the print book "Keeping Her." Very exciting to hold my book in my hand like that. It will be available to order on Amazon and Create Space, also in the beginning of October. The price is astronomical to me at 6.99 so I apologize ahead of time, but at that price, I'm still making less than half what I make on the digital copy. Crazy. Anyway, I will post a link on Facebook and this website when its available in case anyone is waiting for the print version.

Taking The Plunge
Some of you know that my mom has bone cancer. Some of you even know that I take care of her. Though she's been doing so well that I have had very little to do. Well, the last week we have been in and out of the ER and the doctors office and she has two compression fractures in her back. She's dealing with a lot of pain and anxiety. I gave notice at work and will be working from now on only as my wonderful boss has real need, like next Tuesday, otherwise I'm taking care of mom and writing. So essentially I am now only getting paid for my writing. So I am a little excited and a little freaked and mostly just happy my mom is already showing a huge improvement since I took over her meds and her meals and can get her out of the house when she is feeling closed in. Right now she is walking around smiling, even though she still has to face the dreaded MRI on Thursday and the super easy procedure to lift the collapsed spine off her nerves after that. She continues to be a miracle to me.
Meanwhile I feel like I have retired at the age of 39, because I don't see my writing as work, and that causes the a fore mentioned freak and excitement. I have taken the plunge, all bets are in and I have no back up. Now I make my living as a writer. Period.

Working on the next one.
At One's Pleasure is almost done. I was excited when Cleo, Logan and, to a small extent, Lucas Gibb showed up as cameos in this one. Plus I know that Claiming Her will take place, at least partly, on the Island, but that's later. No date yet on that one. We'll see. One thing everyone should be aware of is that the sex is extremely...well extreme in this one.
It doesn't matter how many times I warn people that my books have explicit sex it is always such a surprise when they read it. If they know me, that is. Because I wrote it. Shocking apparently. But really, not for everyone here people. Read the sample before you buy the book, or check it out on my website coming soon excerpts.
Anyway on a truly happy note Loving Her seems to be going over well. I hope everyone had fun reading that one, because it sure was fun to write. The play between Essie and Ben had me laughing out loud so I hope you all had the same reaction.
It is certainly selling really well. In the last 4 days, since its release, the book made the top 100 sellers in three lists: Military romance, shapeshifter romance, and romantic comedy. plus for a brief moment in time I was listed in the top 100 fantasy romance authors. #90. Woohoo! Yesterday I was not on the list, but today I was back on at #100. Again Woohoo! That changes daily, hourly really, Huh, now I'm back up to #94. WooHoo!! We'll see what tomorrow brings.
In the mean time, thanks for reading people, and leave your comments if you have them.

The Editor is not to blame for the extra "her".
There is a typo in my new book. I've fixed it but the people who bought it the first day will get stuck with it. There is an extra "her" on the first page. I would love to say this is actually a contest where if you are the first one to find the out of place word you win, but no, its just a mistake. A mistake I made after the lovely editor was given her copy to correct. So, Megan, and all my readers who got the first version, Sorry. My Bad.
My mother assures me that she would never have made this mistake. Good to know. Thanks Mom.

Just waiting for it.
OK. So now I am just twiddling my thumbs and waiting for editing to be done so I can release "Loving Her". The good news is I should get it tomorrow, which means it will be out by the 1st of September. Yay! The bad news is the next one, "At One's Pleasure," I am sending to a professional in October and they take 3 weeks to edit. That's going to drive me crazy. But... I can't send it sooner, because: A- its not finished, and B-I can't afford it until October. So there you go. You will all have to be patient with me. Bonus-No more typos to overlook.
The scheduled releases for the rest of 2013 is as follows:
September 1 "Loving Her" (Keeping Her Series)
October sometime "At One's Pleasure" (An offshoot of the Keeping Her Series, so I guess Keeping her World. Lucas Gibbs future mate works on this Island, and he will eventually travel here for his book.)
November 2013 "The Journeys End" (Stand alone. Happens in the future on another world. Definitely some Shapeshifting going on. A little Magic, and a whole lot of Alpha male.)
December 2013 "Beatrice and Douglas" (Stand Alone. Contemporary Romance. No paranormal or Fantasy Aspects, but man do they burn up the pages.)
And that's as far as I have planned, other than I know I will be writing "Web of Bones," the next in the Dragon Mage Series as soon as I finish a few of the others in the works. And I figure the third in the Keeping Her series soon after that, so 2014 should be GOOD!
Anyway, now you know.

"Loving her" is done!
All is right with the world and "Loving her" is done, except for the editing stage, of course. We'll see how that goes. It's longer though, just so you know. 40-50,000 words to "Keeping Her" which was 33,000 so will probably be 1 to 2 dollars more depending on the finished word count. Then I have to decide if I'm going to lead into Lucas Gibbs story or Eli. Tough one. I was thinking about doing Shawn and Cleo next but I think we still have a little foreshadowing to do on that one. In any case Ben and Mac are now fully known, though Mac is still an enigma to me and probably always will be, wolverine shifters- so mysterious.
"At one's pleasure" will be the next release after "Loving Her." It's an offshoot of the Keeping her series. It cameos briefly in a conversation in Loving her and will be the same Island where Lucas Gibb will eventually find his mate, but the characters are completely different, and the story is seriously erotic. Really. I kid you not. Makes "The Dragon's Mage" look downright tame.
Speaking of "Dragon's Mage", I have started "Web of Bones" and I have to say- going to be GOOD!
Anyway. I'll send out an e-mail when Loving her is released. I'm still expecting September 1st, but as I said, it depends on how long the editing stage takes.

So close I'm vibrating with it.
I'm so very close to being done with "Loving her" that I'm going a little crazy. I haven't even gotten to the dreaded editing stage and already I'm having doubts. I write the way it happens in my head and at the pace it happens, but now I'm thinking maybe they should slow down, think about what they're doing and not just jump into this relationship with both feet.
But then I think the characters are all about the jumping in with both feet. Really they are definitely jumpers.
So I'm going to be one too. I'm letting my little birds fly and not trying to second guess the decisions they make which I know for a fact turn out good in the end. Anyway, if people have a problem with jumpers this won't be the book for them. Personally I love jumpers, lets get to the heart of it without all the doubts and bickering...Just fall in love already.
See told you, going a little crazy.
