Salvage Rights and Fire The Blood.

It is official, I have finished Salvage Rights and it is set to release October 10th.  Can I just say Yay!  I LOVE this book!  I know I always love my books, but distant worlds holds a special call to my imagination, it has no boundaries and no laws I have to follow-such as taking place on planet Earth and such- and the characters can be or do anything.  Which...they do.  Tolan Lark showed up, gotta love a mercenary that wears skin tight "nanite" armor and can go feral at any moment.  Plus, a few new characters:  If you remember Lara from The Journeys End- she is not in this book, but her love interest is introduced here, and really, the only thing better than a hot space pirate is a big scary one of Scottish Descent.  And I can tell you now that Menelaus and Nori will show up in the next worlds book, which originally was going to be The Danu, but instead is going to continue Tolan Lark and companies escapades.  Can not wait to see them again.  Still a couple of my favorite all time characters (Nori and Menelaus I mean).
In other news Fire The Blood is going to be up for pre-order at the end of October for a December 29th release.  Have I mentioned the names of the main characters in that one yet?  Hmm.  Well if I haven't told you yet, it is going to be the huntsman and the lovely and mysterious Lady Asha.  Look for sample chapters to come soon on my website.

Last but not leas,t looks like Craving Her is set for a March 2015 release.

And for any Nook readers, be aware that the Barnes and Noble release is always 90 days after the exclusive Kindle release, so you can plan accordingly.

3:30 am ramblings

So as the title suggests it is once again 3:30 in the am, and yes I am awake.  It appears my dog is set to make it a nightly bathroom run, if he can get away with it. ( Since he is presently romping in freedom outside right now, I guess he can get away with it.)
Never fear, I have thoughts to share anyway.  Just FYI this will be an exclusive discussion of the Distant Worlds Series so don't be disappointed if we get to the end and no Keeping Her or Dragon Mage is as much as hinted at.
I have been working on Salvage Rights, as most of you know already.  (It is doing well in presale.  Yay!)  The writing is going exceedingly fast and I will be finished this week, ready to go into editing and re-writes.  Did I mention how much fun it is to write this book?  It's really criminal that I get paid to do this, I enjoy it so much.
I just introduced a new character to myself who I really like, and will be featured in a future book of his own.  While she hasn't shown up yet, the precocious and sweet Lara is perfect for this new character.  She is going to be quite the challenge to keep safe with her propensity to flit about the universe and get into scrapes (helping of course).  And she is just so young at heart, she needs a true romantic soul to enjoy her brand of trouble.  And folks you can be sure her father the high ambassador and his faithful space marines are going to hate him with a fiery passion.  He's so completely wrong for her.  Sigh.  Good times.
At first I thought to pair her with Tolan Lark, but she is just too innocent for that scoundrel.  His book is going to feature a mate who can take him on in a verbal smack-down or a physical fight.  Plus she has to be just a bit jaded to handle a Shakien Mate, and with his drive to take down the games I figure he is going to need a fighter.  We will have to see who shows up.  Also introduced in this book is Captain Tyber Relian.  Wait until you get a load of him.  I might still be trying to figure out the name of his salvage ship (dang it) but the man himself is a character I created long before I started The Journey's End.  In fact I think I can date him to about the time I watched Firefly for the first time.
Space cowboys, and intergalactic pirates, where's the wrong?

Now for the fun stuff

Time to answer all those questions I get.  Most popular first of course:When will they be released..."Salvage Rights"- October 10th.  This is a concrete deadline.  Now that Kindle is offering pre-sale to its independents, I will be taking advantage of that.  It should be up for pre-sale in mid September, then it will automatically be shipped to your kindle at midnight on October 10th.  This is good for you because you don't have to stalk the kindle store for the release.  You can get some sleep, sure in the knowledge that the book will magically appear by the time you wake up.  Though I will miss those lively Facebook blurbs where you are DYING for the book to show up, and WHERE IS IT?!!  Those were a hoot.
"Fire The Blood"- December 15th is my release date on this one, and I am determined to make that happen for you. Merry Christmas!FYI also will be available in a pre-sale- Look for it at the end of November.
And finally, "Craving Her."  I am still aiming for February 2015 on this one.  We will know closer to the end of the year.

Next Question:  (Very popular right now) The Council Enforcer that made his first appearance in "Claiming Her" will be seen again, and by that I mean he will be a seriously bad-ass walk on in "Craving Her" and eventually have his own book.  Whether he will have his own book in the Keeping Her Series or if it will be stand alone, or a precursor to something else, (a spin off?  hmmm.)  for that you will have to wait and see.  I do know that his future mate is named Shelby.
Next: Also having to do with the Craving Her book.  I will just say that a great deal of both Cleo, and her fathers past will finally be revealed in this book.  You wanted to know how the boys got together?  Why Lucas left his pride and took his children with him?  Who is the mother, and what happened to her?  That sort of thing.  You're going to find out, just about the same time Cleo does.

Next:  Yes, you will see some of the characters from "The Journey's End" show up in "Salvage Rights."  Right now I know Tolan Lark is going to be his usual scoundrel self.  Will Menelaus and Nori show up?  Or Lara?  When I know, you will.
And last but not least: "Fire The Blood," are Lord Theron and Asha good or bad?  And who is the next book about?  I get it, I am driving you crazy.  So I will say this and put you out of your misery on at least one of these questions.  (and if you made it through the entire blog this is your reward, you are one of the few that will have this knowledge:  The story in "Fire The Blood": Braedon is going to find himself on the hunt...for Asha.  make of that what you will.

Issues with the Nook

If you are a nook reader and have purchased my Web of Bones, I apologize, there seems to be some computer jargon mixed in at chapter ten and beyond.  Barnes and Noble is working on the issue, so hopefully it will be fixed quickly and the proper book resent to you all.  If you have not bought it yet, wait.  That would drive me crazy to try to read.  My apologies to all the Nook readers who saw this, and thanks to the ones who brought it to my attention.  I would pull the book but it is not my end that has the issues, so I have to give them the time they need to fix it.  Hopefully, it will not take the weeks they told one of my readers.  Cause that would suck.
Anyone else had issues on other books?  I would hate for you to think I would publish that on purpose.  Let me know so I can get it resolved.

August Showers

In case you were wondering..."Salvage Rights" is going good.  Not so much in the last week or so because there were extenuating circumstances and I am positive I did not even turn on my laptop, let alone write-and that's only partly due to the release of the newest Kate Daniels book (Ilona andrews).  Really, read that sucker in like a day, so hardly a blip in my lack of writing radar.- But I am back at it today and very excited about the story.  Mostly because I still have no idea what will happen from page to page so it's a little like I am reading it for the first time myself.  Exciting.
"Salvage Rights" has a new cover, as does the next Dragon Mage book "Fire The Blood."  Which is thrilling for me because that means that part of it is done for the next three books, since you all already voted on the "Craving Her" cover.
First week of October is the scheduled release of "Salvage Rights" still.  I was a little ahead on that one so we are good for the deadline.  Then expect "Fire The Blood" in December (cross your fingers), and then "Craving Her" in february (tentatively).
By the way I am excited to tell you that "Claiming Her" has beat all my previous sales records by a mile, and the reviews have been excellent.  To answer a few questions: Craving Her will have a lot of the back story on Lucas and his kids.  Had to wait for that because so much of it is tied into Cleo's story, so if you have questions...well, you only have to wait until then.

Twists and turns

I will be the first one to admit that I had a certain story in mind when I started Salvage Rights.  However, my characters seem to be going another way.  Which I have to say, I am loving.  It certainly makes writing more fun when I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen next, or what these characters are capable of.  It's exhilarating, plus Lucan Warrung is one sexy boss/pirate.  Makes me want to get me my very own bad boy.
Besides my great envy for Danika,  I am also happy to see a return of a familiar character from The Journey's End.  It might be I just have pirates on the brain.  In case you are wondering who else is going to show up, besides Tolan Lark I mean, I have no idea at this point.  Seems like this one is writing itself and I am along for the ride.

In other news, Claiming Her is doing splendidly, thank you all very much.  Out in print right now, Amazon will have it in a few days if don't want to buy it from Createspace.
Also, I promised you a new excerpt on my website, but that is not ready yet.  Check back later for a sample of the Collector, the next Distant worlds after Salvage Rights.  Don't panic though.  I am still doing Fire the Blood and Craving Her before that comes out.  Here is the list in order of when they will be available:

Salvage Rights (Sept/Oct)
Fire the Blood (December)
Craving Her  (Early 2015)
The Collector (Which will probably get a decent name sometime in the future)  After that.

To Review

Thank you to everyone who writes reviews on Amazon, or Good Reads or contacts me on my website, or Facebook.  It is always a worry when I have a new book out that, no matter how much I love it, other people might not, and I had many stalkers for "Claiming Her", so there was the added pressure that it would not live up to expectations.
Whew, one less thing to worry about.  Onward.
For those of you who are asking about it.  "Web Of Bones" will be out for Smashwords and the Nook this week.
Next week Claiming Her will be out in print form.  I know, I know, "Loving Her" is still not out in print, and as weird as it is to have the first and third of a series in print but not the 2nd, we will have to persevere.  "Loving Her" still needs a professional edit before I put it down in permanent ink form.  Still hoping to get that taken care of this year however.  We will see.

"Salvage Rights" is my next big project.  I started this book years ago and had it in my file marked "snippets" ever since.  It was a lovely day dream at the time.   In fact I have a few starts for books in my "snippets" folder.  That was actually where "At One's Pleasure" originated from, and "The Dragon Mage" languished there for a while too, come to that.  Started both those books long before I wrote Keeping Her.  Just a little trivia.  Anyway-  Dannika is one of my favorite characters, totally different from Nori, but in her own way she kicks ass. Figuratively, if not literally.

I have also decided to put a few more upcoming books in the coming soon file.  I will have some new excerpts for you to see.  Not Craving Her or Fire the Blood yet so don't get too excited.  I am writing both of those after "Salvage Rights," but I have a few other things in the works for after those come out and I thought you might like a taste.  So keep a look out on my website this week and you will see something new.  Of course then you have to wait for the book to come up in the line up, but speaking from my own experience.  I love excerpts, even if I have to wait for the rest.

As always I like to give the book release news at the end of my blogs, so here it is:
"Salvage Rights"  September/October
"Fire The Blood" Christmas time
"Craving Her"  January/February
"The Collector" (questionable title for the next Distant Worlds book.)  Around April I should think.
These times are of course tentative and subject to multiple changes for no apparent reason, but you get the idea.

Claiming Her is out to buy!

Pretty happy about that.  Here is the link if you don't already have it:http://www.amazon.com/Claiming-Her-Ke...
Claiming Her is Lucas Gibbs story.
I love this book.  I know I usually say that about all my books, but I really enjoy writing this series.  I hope you enjoy reading it as much.
For the next few books here is the release schedule-tentative:
Salvage Rights from the Distant Worlds Series is next.  Look for that towards September/October
And I really hope to get Fire the Blood, the next in the Dragon Mage Series at the end of 2014
Craving Her will be early 2015.  This is Cleo and Shawn's story in the next Keeping Her Book.

In the mean time, enjoy Lucas.

"Claiming Her" is done!

I have just finished my re-writes for "Claiming Her" and it is now moving into the editors hands.  That means for everyone who is waiting for word,  the third book in the Keeping Her Series should be out in a week to ten days.  So I am definitely shooting for July 1st.  I will let you know as soon as I get it back and I release it to Amazon.  There is usually a delay of about a day at that point so be a little flexible.  You will be happy to know that it is almost twice as long as Keeping Her, and everybody shows up for this one.  (Except Essie-so don't get your hopes up.)
I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.  Because I have to say-It was a blast.
Also, I will be at Summer Camp with the church kids right about the time this is coming out, so if you leave comments, which I LOVE, there will be a little delay in my response. But leave them anyway, 'cause I love that.

After I get back I will start work on "Salvage Rights", the next in the Distant Worlds Series.
That release is set for October, and I am really hoping to stick with that.  We shall see what life wants to throw my way.
If you are not familiar with the premise for this one you can check out the excerpt for a taste of Lucan and Dannika's story, and I will try to get the blurb for it up on this website tonight.
But really, how do you compress- genetically tampered with female (truthsayer) salvaged from an abandoned craft is at the mercy of a super hot space pirate who also carries the same genes as the bad guy (his brother) who wants her for himself.  Genes that will literally turn up her heat? -into a short paragraph. Not an easy blurb to right, especially when Dannika is all kinds of kick ass in hiding, and Lucan is going to get a lot more than he bargained for when he agrees to take her on.
And in case you are wondering, we are going to see at least one of the characters from "The Journey's End" back in this one, maybe more.  We will see where the spirit leads.

So dates as I know them now:
"Claming Her"(Keeping Her) July 1 2014
"Salvage Rights" (Distant Worlds) October 2014
"Fire The Blood" (Dragon Mage)  Dec 2014-Jan 2015
"Craving Her" (Keeping Her) March/April 2015

A short note to waiting readers

Just wanted to take a minute to give an update on the status of the Keeping Her Series, namely Claiming Her.  Most of you know already that this is the story of Lucas Gibbs and Miley Isabella Rose.
I know I say this every time but I love these characters.  Probably because I invented them and as such I can make them whoever I want. - But it always feels more like they are born and then tell me who they are.  So it is just lucky for me that they are so very likable since we spend so much time together.
Summer is always a busy time.  Graduations, Births, family visits, and vacation time, it's a wonder we get anything done. And really, isn't it awesome?
You will be happy to know that while I did not make my hoped for Beginning of June deadline, I will be making the Beginning of July one.  So, the wait is almost over.  I will post a heads up when this goes into the editing phase and then post the link when it is up and ready for purchase.  Some of you have been waiting for Lucas for longer than others, just like some are dying for Cleo's book , and some can't wait for Logan to get his shot, and so on...  Thank you to everyone who has patiently, and even better, impatiently stalked my website and Facebook.  Believe me, when you are a newer independent author there can never be too much of that.
