Star Kissed by Lizzy Ford
Star Kissed
New release by Lizzy Ford
Amazon.com
(on sale for 99 cents)
When Mandy loses her job, she thinks she’s hit rock bottom – until her plane is swallowed by a strange storm that sends her and everyone else on board 10,000 years into the future. At first, she thinks the scary world is nothing more than a bad dream. The war-torn Earth is unrecognizable. Black fog blocks the sun, and the oceans are dry. Even worse: the planet is inhabited by half-human, half-alien creatures dying from a mysterious disease. Horrified at the thought of spending her life here, she clings to the knowledge that there’s one man who can open the star gate to send her home.
As the Naki prince who controls the star gate, Akkadi gets first choice of any human female that makes her way through the star gate. Only by breeding with purebred humans from the past can his race hope to remain immune to the disease and hopefully, develop an eventual cure. With shrinking resources and a raging battle for the human planet, dutiful, commanding Akkadi is less than thrilled at the idea of trying to figure out Mandy, a woman he views as wild with neither discipline nor respect for someone in his position.
He’s ready to write her off, when she offers him something too tempting to resist: her body for the chance to convince him by any means possible to send her home. Neither intends for the arrangement to be permanent or to fall for the other. Only when Mandy learns Akkadi’s secret and walks away does he realize he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her – even if it means losing his war.
Will be out soon for 99 cents keep an eye on Lizzy's website for more details!

Every high school has it's social elite; the football players and cheerleaders ... you know, the popular crowd. At Butler High, Jack Barely was as close to the top as they came. Captain of the swim team, great hair, and abs that most would die for. However, that was all before the Leeches attacked, taking away everything: his popularity, his house, his grandmother, and even his best friend, Caleo, whom he secretly loved.
Now, living in a destroyed world, popularity means nothing as Jack struggles just to keep him and his twin sister, Jillian, alive. With attacks happening more frequently, Jack starts to wonder why they are even bothering to try and hold onto the past when it just reminds him of all they have lost. Just when he has given up hope, Jack hears a rumor that Caleo is still alive and sets out on a mission to find him. But will Jack make it to finally tell Caleo how he really feels?
I have james crawford on the blog today, the author of the Leech Series. He interviewed the cover model for his second book, so with no further delay I give you....james crawford and Peter Stoychev. <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:3 0 0 0 1 0;} @font-face {font-family:Cambria; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:3 0 0 0 1 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin-top:0in; margin-right:0in; margin-bottom:10.0pt; margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} h5 {mso-style-link:"Heading 5 Char"; mso-margin-top-alt:auto; margin-right:0in; mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto; margin-left:0in; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; mso-outline-level:5; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-weight:bold;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {mso-style-noshow:yes; color:purple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} span.Heading5Char {mso-style-name:"Heading 5 Char"; mso-style-locked:yes; mso-style-link:"Heading 5"; mso-ansi-font-size:10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ascii-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; font-weight:bold;} span.usercontent {mso-style-name:usercontent;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} </style></span></span></span></div><br /><h5><span style="font-size: large;">Hello everybody I am james crawford author of the Leech series.
Caleo
by james crawford
Every High School has their social outcasts. The band nerds, the math geeks, the chess club, the girl that chews her hair, but at Butler even the creepy nose picker in the chess club is more popular than Caleo Anima. No matter what he did, his pale skin, snow white hair, and piercing blue eyes always made him an easy target. He used to think that the only way things could get worse would be if someone found out that he was gay, but that isn't even the tip of the iceberg of problems after a mysterious stranger shows up and changes Caleo’s life forever.
Hidden amongst our society, a secret and magical race of people known as ‘Leeches’, have been engaging in civil war for decades. Both sides are desperately searching for a weapon with unlimited power that will give them the advantage they need to rule their world. This wouldn’t mean anything to Caleo, except for one problem...He is that weapon!
Forget making it through High School. Caleo has bigger problems! As the search for him goes on, the world is quickly crumbling around him. He's now fighting for his life and the life of what little family he has left. With the help of new friends, he has little time to try and master his newly found powers as he tries to figure out who he can trust, who is trying to use him, and who just wants him dead. One wrong step and being the awkward pale outcast will be the LEAST of his worries.

~*~My Review~*~
The cover is what pulled me in then the book kept me hooked! This book was intense! I loved reading it and by the time last page came around I was screaming for more! At first I thought that Caleo was a very confused frightened angry, yet deeply honest, passionate, funny boy. I still think all those things, although I would have to add brave. I enjoyed reading about him and how he changed and grew and discovered more of who he is. I went into this book after reading the blurb having missed the entire sentence that he was gay. I have nothing against him being gay, although I thought it quite odd looking back to when he was teasing the two boys in the locker room, just seemed an odd thing to do to me. I don't tend to read many books dealing with gay characters, even though I have enjoyed those that I have read. Someone who is very close to me is gay, and I really liked how this subject was brought up in the book. As in what the Blessed thought of homosexuality, and how they dealt with females as well. I am sincerely hoping that book 2 explores this more. I haven't read yet how many books there will be beyond two, but I truly hope that this continues. I think it seems logical that this particular subject may force a change of opinions among the Blessed, considering their 'leader' is gay. I loved how we followed Caleo's growing attraction to Nolan, and even the attraction that I think was there with Jack. I know Jack is attracted to Caleo, but I am still unsure how much Caleo likes Jack as more than a brother. I thought the relationships between each character were brilliantly done, and loved every moment of reading about them.
Stinky/Mickey was an interesting twist, and I am hoping that it is explained more in book 2. I kinda thought maybe the cuffs could have been explained more, I am still a tad confused by this. I am hoping Alix is also explained a bit more in book 2 and even Thorn. I have questions about Gabriel if there are more leeches like him, with his power. I am curious to find out what happened to Nolan, and what this means for the next book. I am also curious to learn more about Leeches, and what it all means and what role an Angel plays within this separate species.
I give this book a 4.5 star rating overall, and I encourage those who enjoy reading YA paranormal books with deep emotional tones and issues, to read this book! Very well done Mr. Crawford!

Crawford!

All the Way Review

~*~My Review~*~
This is a very fun read! The characters were fun to read about, and each one had something that I loved about them. Yes, even Allison and how she is shown up by Miranda. I thought that this book was a great look into what it takes to be happy, and how decisions can be made and how life changes because of it. I was biting my nails and rooting for Gavin and Miranda the whole way wondering if they were really going to get a happy ending. I loved hearing about the 'foodie' industry without it all being super technical, this story may have been about a food critic but it was truly a story about Miranda and her relationship with Gavin as well as a story about Gabe and his relationship with Miranda. I thought the parts from Gavin's perspective were wonderfully well written and I had to remind myself that a woman had written the book, it was so real. I loved how it explored every aspect of them, from their fun and intensity and their heart ache and how they are able to cope, and live a happy life. Also how others impacted and reacted to them, with them, and around them. Wonderful! If there are more books about this crew I will read each one happily and eagerly! I am a huge fan of Jennifer Probst!

Death, Doom, and Detention Review
Death, Doom, and Detentionby Darynda Jones

~My Review~ I will just state that all of Darynda's books will get a 5 star rating from me, because she is an amazing author. I laughed so much during this book, and truly I can't wait until the conclusion of the trilogy. There were a couple parts where the wording and the situation was so funny, that I could hardly breathe from laughing so hard. Each character is so much fun to read about, and it will be interesting to find out what will happen in the third book. I did not see that ending coming! I totally thought something completely different was going to happened, so kudos for the twist! I love the relationships between each of thecharacters and how even the seemingly 'little' things are actually rather large! I feel like Darynda does a fabulous job of getting to the heart of a teen voice, while still making it light enough that the normal teenage angst isn't frustrating to read. I recommend to all who like paranormal, humorous, romantic, books with a twist.I give this a 5 star rating! Darynda Jones YA Website
