5 things to do as an new author.

So here are fivepractical things to do as you embark on your publishing journey.

1. Finish your book.

Get it done. Edit it. Make sure it’s in MS Word. But whatever you do…finish it. You are an author when you finish the book. Not before. Prior to completion you are a writer which is different.

2. Figure out who your books market is.

What is the demographics. What are the pyshcographics, (the attitudes, what they want in life, where they hang out etc.)

In my latest novel the Birth of God. I continue the series of angels at war. In the second book, Yeshua the second person of the Godhead leaves Heaven to commit to man’s salvation by living inside a virgin.

I find that writing fiction can often pose challenges, especially when one attempts to depict God. I mean really think about it. What then shall we do when book reviewers go bad?

Occasionally we authors are challenged on how to respond to reviews. Reviews I have learned are simply readers documenting how they experienced an authors writing.

Because of that I have overall taken the mindset that reviews in general are like walking into an ice cream store. I should not expect someone who wants and likes chocolate to be thrilled when they taste vanilla. There is no right and wrong in such instances but merely preferences.
