Robert Paulette never updates her goodreads, so nobody has the slightest idea of what she is reading. Why is that, Paulette?

Paulette Livers Oh, I'm not very good at these kinds of things. And my life is so crazy with my husband moving across the country and all, that my concentration is just about shot. Someday I'm going to grow up and get my life together, then I'll write pithy comments, and you'll say, I knew Paulette back when she was an inarticulate person. Besides I read about five books at once, which is always a bad thing.

Robert wrote: "Paulette never updates her goodreads, so nobody has the slightest idea of what she is reading. Why is that, Paulette?"

Robert I just tend to be endlessly curious about what people are reading is all, particularly about what talented writers are reading. Which makes goodreads an exceptionally wonderful/dangerous website on which to putz around.

And I will someday say, for the record, that I was the first to deface your goodreads profile with a comment. Nobody can ever take that away.

And I disagree about reading five books at once being a bad thing. If you can keep them all separate in your head, more power to you. I used to be able to do that. Now, though, I've just taken to plowing through one book at a time, in semi-rapid succession.

Robert INFINITE JEST can be had new pretty cheaply, actually. Amazon has it for $12 ( http://www.amazon.com/Infinite-Jest-D... )and the Boulder book Store has it for about the same price. And yeah, we've been meeting. It's very informal, though, and better suited to poetry and flash fiction than short stories.

Robert Also: when will you be back from Chicago?
