The Spiritual Gifts of Donald Trump
If we can remember that everyone is a spiritual being in human form (which we tend to forget in politics); and if we can detach from temporary politics enough to rise above to the grand picture (which means you don’t have to be right/left, blue/red, donkey/elephant); and if we can look beyond the short-term perspective and see a long-term view (which may seem impossible at times), then we can begin to look at the spiritual gifts of Donald Trump in the political arena.
Now, before we begin, please note that this is a commentary on consciousness, not on political beliefs, how you should vote, or how great/awful someone is. Politics bring up our beliefs and reactions in a powerful way, especially in the American two-party system (well, sometimes three-party – remember Ross Perot?) and it creates division and polarization. **This is not that discussion.**
This is about the grander energy cycles that are in play on the human playground at this time, and how we can be consciously aware of them in order to work with them powerfully. (Some people just stopped reading this post, and that’s perfectly perfect. :) )
Here in 2016, it’s as if the Collective Consciousness said, “Let’s throw an energy into the ring that will trigger and hype and anger and provoke people into deeper conversations! Let’s spur up some unexpected developments to see what needs to breakdown/change/be questioned in order to move human consciousness forward.”
“Heeeeyyyy…." said the Universe. “I think we know just the candidate for that. Let’s see if he’s available.” :)
So we have the soul of Donald Trump playing a role – just as we are ALL playing roles – and he is showing us where a deep reservoir of people hold beliefs, fears, and unconscious energies that have been dormant and/or hidden. Public energy is represented through popularity, whether through politics, celebrity, or fame, and shows us, the masses, where we are directing our energy right now and what has our interests. People are not ‘accidentally’ put in the limelight for extended periods of time (Kardashians, Kardashians, Kardashians); they are reflecting something back to us that we are ready to see (or not!) in a new way (or not!) and learn from (or not!). Everything is choice.
From a detached place, we can see that people are angry, upset, fearful, and confused about the world, business, (name a topic), and their place in it. People feel separated from their power (unheard, ignored, lost, etc), and political figures are giving them something to rally behind that represents these issues. What is that in the world of consciousness? Separation Consciousness, which is believing that you do not hold the power, answers, directions, or path inside of you; it’s outside of you. So you look for others to champion your causes.
Then something or someone comes along to bring these hidden topics, concerns, feelings, and issues UP for all to see. Because how can anything be addressed if it is kept behind the scenes? How can anything heal if it is hidden?
It cannot. It must be brought into the light. Into awareness. Out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Or on to a stage.
The highest expression of politics is that it reflects the common good for All.
But is anything being brought into the light to change and heal, or is it just coming up to get upset about and give our power away to someone who wants more power? This could be said about all of politics, everywhere, because politics is THEE arena for ego, domination, and supremacy (the list goes on). It is currently the world of Shadow Masculine energy in full effect.
Mass consciousness is currently examining some big questions that have been sitting under the surface. Is it okay to insult large groups of people? Where do we collectively stand with misogyny, racism, xenophobia, and discrimination? How do we want to treat each other? Are we ready to be more accepting and open to our human differences?
Hmmmm. Big topics to move through. Looks like more healing, acceptance, and empowerment is being required.
We are moving through a grand cycle that is meant to question the power we give AWAY to authority, leadership, and dominating energies. How is that working for us? Does it represent what we want as a global family? Are we really separate from our power, and then we assume political figures know what to do for us?
We are also moving through a grand cycle where we look at ourselves and if we are able to extend love to other people when it is hard to do – or if we retract from love because they trigger us deeply.
And how else can we do this work if we do not have a soul who volunteers to rally things up?
So from a spiritual perspective, Donald Trump is providing us with an opportunity to look at and question ourselves. The Donald is requiring us to grow our hearts when we disagree; to step back and consciously look at where we are headed collectively. Is this the path forward we want to take? Does he hold the energy that can lead us in that direction?
If it wasn’t him, someone else would play that role. And if it wasn’t now, it would be later.
Yes, there are real concerns in the world today (North Korea, ISIS, Syria, etc.) and these are not simple issues. They are ongoing, complex, and require a lot of work. Whom is the best States Person to handle modern diplomacy, difficult conversations, and hard decisions? We each have an opinion about that. And so the political conversation and opposing viewpoints carry on.
On an astrological note, late 2017 is when Saturn moves into Capricorn, and will require us all to look at how we’ve matured and grown since the 2008 recession. This will also be another stern reality check around the use of collective power.
I suspect politics will really change eight years from now, or at least look very different, by 2024. That’s where I’m putting my Monopoly money. The United States will have its Pluto return at 27 degrees Capricorn, and then Pluto will move into Aquarius and stir up the concept of a global political system that gives back.
Perhaps one of the best things we can do at this time is continue to focus on the “best possible outcome” for the United States and world population. No country exists alone; no leader operates in solidarity. We may have to move through some lower energies to truly see where new solutions are needed. Or not. Humanity advanced in 2008, and it can certainly do the same in another cycle. If we can rise above one election and set our intentions for what is best for the globe, we may all come out as winners in the current political system. That may mean a system needs to break down first to be rebuilt in a whole new way. Which frankly I find to be very exciting.
The Donald is bringing topics and conversations to the table that are meant to show us a path forward in some capacity. Different energies will follow different paths… and so the dance continues on.
Visualize light to the globe. Send higher consciousness to the collective. Send every political candidate light for their highest and best path. Trust that all is in Divine Order because WE are co-creating it together - and human consciousness is rising.
And on a final note, I have considered a solution for the U.S. political race: a write-in candidate. Whom would that be? Justin Trudeau for U.S. President is my choice!

5 years ago...already?
When I launched my website Conscious Cool Chic.com back in 2011, no one really knew what I was talking about or what “consciousness” meant.
I was ready for a new direction and project, yet needed clarity. It was time to create and share spiritual insights that would inspire people, but I didn't know where to start.
Elimination is a helpful tool. I had found A Course in Miracles back in the 1990’s and it didn’t excite me enough to run with. I had studied a few different spiritual philosophies, but felt them wither away after a few months. I wanted to include astrology, but not be an astrology website. And I had books in the works that were about helping people understand their soul purpose and make conscious choices, but I wasn’t an author yet and still had a lot to figure out.
So 5 years ago this month, I sat on my favorite chair in the quiet of my bedroom and simply listened to Spirit moving through me. I wanted to focus on consciousness and it needed to be "cool" and fun; not Ivory Tower, or stiff, or pedestrian.
The words "Conscious" and "Cool" came through quickly. And being a lover of alliteration, I wanted a third word that started with “c.” I heard “chic” quickly and smiled because being modern and stylish was the perfect fit.
I got up from the chair and didn’t think twice about what I heard. I bought the Conscious Cool Chic domain name right after that - and just figured it out as I went.
No one was talking about consciousness like we are now, so people didn't know how to categorize this site. It wasn't metaphysical or spiritual 'enough' because I wasn't focusing on the 5th dimension, or energy grids, or galactic messages. Yet I wasn't mainstream enough, either, because I wasn't sharing life hacks, or DIY projects, or writing inspiring platitudes found on hundreds of other sites. I couldn't link to very much, and had to create all of the content myself.
Which was perfect.
Because, as you probably know and have discovered, consciousness is not about being comfortable at first. As you rise in personal consciousness, you know it is not about fitting in anywhere. It is about sharing what is uniquely you regardless of what anyone else is doing.
You take yourself away from the status quo of who you “believe” yourself to be, and rise up into new realms of soul understandings and cosmic light where we are all connected anyways.
So this topic wasn't what the cool kids were talking about in 2011, but I was ready to go there. And that meant there were people ready to go there with me. Or fingers crossed - hopefully there would be!
When we step into a new adventure, we are expanding into a new aspect of ourselves that is ready to bloom.
Celebrate that there is no map!
Celebrate that there is no clear path!
Celebrate that you don’t have to have the answers at the beginning – but you will find them as you venture forward.
You get to make it all up as you go. How exciting, terrifying, and thrilling is that!
If you are looking for new inspiration and clarity about your next steps right now, find your special place and just listen. Trust what you hear, no matter how wild or odd it may seem in the first place.
Take that wild, unknown step into where you are ready to grow next.
Focus on the long-term, not only the immediate.
Allow yourself to bend and weave and swerve – it is only natural.
Truth be told, this website wasn’t my first rodeo. I launched my very first website back in 2006 when I was living in Paris. (Do you remember how long it took to upload pictures to a computer in 2006? Yeah, that was fun. :)
So here it is, 10 years later, and I’ve learned MANY things about being an online contributor, author, and spiritual entrepreneur. I’ll be venturing into more new topics to share with you later this year, and that same cocktail of feelings is present telling me it’s right: exciting, terrifying, thrilling – GO!

The Art of Trapeze: A Few Words of Appreciation
One of the best parts about being an author is connecting with you, the gorgeous reader, and hearing your feedback.
When I wrote my spiritual memoir, The Art of Trapeze: One Woman's Journey of Soaring, Surrendering, and Awakening, and put it "out there", it brought up all kinds of emotions and thoughts within me that were both invigorating and unexpected. And then the sharing was made even richer as *you* offered your inspirations and impressions from the book.
It's been incredible to hear how many of you relate to my time in North Carolina. You've sent me emails sharing your similar experiences, and I have to tell you that I REALLY appreciate it! We're never alone in our toughest times as these are often when we can relate even more to others. That part of the book was really hard for me to write and put out there, so THANK YOU for being so kind and open with sharing your tough times, too.

Astrology and Energies of February
Any delays or stumbles you felt in January should get back on track in February as we progress away from Mercury retrograde territory and move into the innovative spark of Aquarius.
This month has a very different energy signature as we look at our collective connections and focus on building a new dream.
We're also working with strong Mars in Scorpio energy, a Full Moon in Virgo, and a big line-up of Pisces energies. When the Sun enters Pisces on February 18 and we complete a full cycle that started last spring. Look at where Pisces energy is in your astrology chart for more insights into this cycle in your world.
And it's a leap year! We have an extra day of Pisces energy to work with the energies of forgiveness, compassion, and letting go before launching new beginnings in March with the Sun in Aries and two eclipses.
