Kathryn Biel hails from Upstate New York, and is a spouse and mother of two wonderful, but exhausting kids. In between being Chief Home Officer and Director of Child Development of the Biel household, she works as a school-based physical therapist. She attended Boston University and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The Sage Colleges. After years of writing countless letters of medical necessity for wheelchairs, finding increasingly creative ways to encourage the government and insurance companies to fund her client's needs, and writing entertaining annual Christmas letters, she decided to take a shot at writing the kind of novel that she likes to read. Her musings and rants can also be found on her personal blog, Biel Blather ...more

I am a marketer's dream. I come by it honestly. I inherited it from my parents. My mom likes to buy vacuums and cleaning implements (and has single handedly supported Shark). My dad is a serious junkie. I can't tell you how many infomercial products he's bought. His latest is an electric pressure cooker. He bought it while in the hospital. I guess there wasn't much on late night TV. In his defe... Read more of this blog post »

“There was the time I ate liverwurst because my sister told me it tasted like candy.”
Kathryn R. Biel, I'm Still Here

“had girl friends that were my close-knit group of friends, but I honestly felt most comfortable with Matt. With my girl friends, there was always drama and cattiness. There was competition for the attention of a cute boy, the better grade, the smallest ass, the biggest boobs.”
Kathryn R. Biel, Good Intentions

“I'm done. I need to leave now." She turned and was in the foyer before he called to her. "Liza, wait!" She paused, and then slowly turned. He had followed her out but gave her a respectable distance. "What is it, Jack?" "Do you hate me?" "I don't know. Hate is a pretty strong emotion." She paused, thinking, "Yes, I think I do hate you." "Good." "Good?" "Yes, because the opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is indifference. Love and hate are very close to each other. If you hate me, then it won't be hard to get you to love me." "Are you fucking kidding me?" "No, I'm completely serious.”
