I can generally be found staring at a screen from behind a keyboard, either writing, coding or attempting to read all of the interesting parts of the internet before someone adds a new bit.

I'm addicted to stories in all forms, especially books and film, and enjoy spending as much time as possible in a world other than this one.

My ideas comes from a range of sources, even other books. A lot seem to stem from the news.

If I find something interesting, I make a note and will play about with how it can be developed. This can happen over a very long period (years).

Sometimes ideas are a spin on something, flipping an existing plot, or finding a new take.

I'm drawn to lesser known subjects, it's interesting to research and (I like to think) adds to a reader's enjoyment, plus it may teach them something too.(less)

Over the past few weeks I have received a few offers, both via Twitter and private messages on the Kindle Users Forum, along the lines of:

I see you’re interested in a free copy of my book, did you find it? If not, I’m happy to send you one.

I assumed they were spam and deleted or ignored them.

Then I was accused of stealing by an author I’d never heard of because of the supposed posts I’d made...

This book sells itself as all about negotiation, and I think most people would see that as aimed at salesmen or corporate bigwigs working on multi-million dollar deals. It’s not though. We negotiate pretty much every day in some capacity — whether it ...more
