Dios Nos Cuida

“Ciertamente tu bondad y tu amor inagotable me seguirán todos los días de mi vida, y en la casa del Señor viviré por siempre”. Salmo 23:6 (NTV)

Cuando el rey David declaró que la bondad de Dios lo seguiría, no estaba diciendo: “¡Seguro que solo me van a pasar cosas buenas!” Sabía tan bien como nadie que a las personas buenas les pasan cosas malas.

En cambio, David estaba diciendo que la bondad de Dios lo seguiría sin importar cuán malo o difícil parezca algo, Dios puede resolverlo para siempre.

Es una de las grandes promesas de Dios que se da a los creyentes: todo lo que nos sucede está trabajando para nuestro bien, si amamos a Dios y encajamos en sus planes (véase Romanos 8:28). Si tú eres un creyente, la Biblia dice que todas las cosas están trabajando juntas para el bien, no que todas las cosas sean buenas, sino que las cosas están trabajando juntas para bien.

No hay dificultad, dilema, derrota o desastre en la vida de un creyente que Dios no pueda en última instancia volverlo hacia su propósito.

Al igual que la bondad, el amor inquebrantable de Dios nos persigue en la vida. ¡El rey David dice que nos sigue!

Cuando luchamos contra las heridas, los hábitos y los complejos, Dios se nos acerca, ayudándonos a resolver nuestros problemas y diciéndonos que su amor inquebrantable siempre está ahí.

Entonces, en lugar de entrar en el futuro con un signo de interrogación, ¡puedes hacerlo con un signo de exclamación! Dios estará contigo sin importar lo que pase. Él te ayudará: “Ciertamente tu bondad y tu amor inagotable me seguirán todos los días de mi vida, y en la casa del Señor viviré por siempre“ Salmo 23:6 (NTV).

La bondad de Dios proveerá y protegerá.La misericordia de Dios (amor inagotable) perdonará y disculpará.La bondad de Dios proveerá.La misericordia de Dios calmará.La bondad de Dios ayudará.La misericordia de Dios sanará.

La bondad es el hecho de que Dios nos da cosas buenas en la vida que no merecemos. Misericordia significa que Dios retiene la condena que merecemos.

Cuando el rey David dijo que viviría en la casa del Señor para siempre, estaba diciendo que Dios había preparado un lugar para él en el Cielo.

Esa es una de las conexiones más importantes que vemos en la Biblia. Conecta el ayer con el hoy y luego conecta ambos con el mañana.

Dios dice: “Tengo una gran vida planeada para ti, y seguramente la bondad y la misericordia te seguirán a través de ella, ¡pero ese no es el final! ¡Tengo algo más al final!”.

Así que David termina su Salmo diciendo: “¡Nos vamos al Cielo!”. Jesús deja lo mejor para el final. Con Dios las cosas son cada vez mejores. Lo mejor está por llegar. “De hecho, sabemos que, si esta tienda de campaña en que vivimos se deshace, tenemos de Dios un edificio, una casa eterna en el cielo, no construida por manos humanas” 2 Corintios 5:1 (NVI).

What’s the Purpose of My Struggle?

“Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways.”

Proverbs 20:30 (GNT)

Think of the biggest conflict or problem you’re facing right now.

Without even knowing what it is, you can boil that problem down to two basic issues. First, will you obey God and do the right thing in this situation? And, second, will you trust God to take care of this situation?

The root of so many problems is really your struggle with God. You want to be in control, you want to be God, you want to be the master of your faith, you want to be in charge, you want to call the shots. But you were never meant to be or do any of those things. So God uses a crisis in your life to force the issue.

Do you ever feel that dealing with your problems is like a wrestling match? The objective of wrestling is to pin the opponent down on the mat until they finally say, “I give up. I surrender! You’re in control.”

That’s what God was doing in his wrestling match with Jacob in the Old Testament. He was going to pin Jacob down until he surrendered and gave up control.

At one point in their wrestling match, God wounded Jacob’s hip, an injury that would give him a lingering limp. Jacob was suddenly in a position of helplessness and in a situation where he couldn’t win.

Even in the midst of your no-win situation, God is there. In fact, he often uses a crisis to get your attention. God whispers to you in your pleasure, but he shouts to you in your pain.

The Bible says, “Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways” (Proverbs 20:30 GNT). In other words, you don’t change when you see the light; you change when you feel the heat.

God loves you the way you are, but he loves you too much to let you stay that way. When he makes you go through a wrestling match, he’s making you into who you were meant to be—more like Jesus Christ. He makes you weak so that you learn to depend on him for everything you need.

You rarely change until your pain becomes greater than your fear of change. If you’re wrestling with God right now, surrender to him. Therein lies the only way forward on a path marked with spiritual growth and peace.

Dios está ahí en tu Valle más Oscuro

“Aun cuando yo pase por el valle más oscuro, no temeré, porque tú estás a mi lado. Tu vara y tu cayado me protegen y me confortan”.  Salmo 23:4 (NTV)

¿Qué cosas te preocupan? ¿la economía? ¿tu salud? ¿tus finanzas? ¿tus hijos? ¿te preocupa el futuro? Puedes encontrar muchas razones para tener miedo en el mundo de hoy, pero Dios promete que incluso en tus valles más oscuros, Él está caminando a tu lado.

Hay alrededor de 365 versículos en la Biblia que dicen: “No temas”. ¡Dios nos dio un mensaje de “no temas” para todos los días del año! Quizá Dios está diciendo: “Recibe el mensaje. No tengas miedo”. Es interesante que casi todas las veces que Dios le habla a alguien en la Biblia, lo primero que dice es: “No tengas miedo”.

¿Por qué? Debido a que nuestras heridas y complejos a menudo pueden hacernos pensar que Dios está tratando de atraparnos, que todo lo que Él quiere hacer es condenarnos y castigarnos. Pero eso simplemente no es verdad, y Jesús es la prueba de eso.

Cuando entendemos la gracia y la misericordia de Dios, no tenemos necesidad de temer al futuro. Dios no está tratando de vengarse de ti. Jesús ha tomado la deuda por todo lo que has hecho mal o harás mal. Él ya pagó en la cruz. Entonces, cuando sucede algo malo, no tienes que pensar que Dios se está desquitando contigo; en cambio, recuerda esto: “Aun cuando yo pase por el valle más oscuro, no temeré, porque tú estás a mi lado. Tu vara y tu cayado me protegen y me confortan” Salmo 23:4 (NTV).

For Everyone Who Needs a Second Chance

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)

The Bible is full of people who got a second chance. God is the God of second chances—and hundredth and thousandth chances!

Abraham, who is called the father of faith, pretended his wife was his sister because he didn’t have faith that God would protect him. Moses murdered someone. Jonah ran from his assignment. Rahab worked as a prostitute. David committed adultery and had the woman’s husband put to death. And yet every one of these people are in God’s “hall of fame” in Hebrews 11.

God loves to give second chances. If you had to be perfect to receive God’s grace, no one would stand a chance!

Job got some of the best advice for recovering what has been lost in your life and returning to God’s original plan for you: “Put your heart right, Job. Reach out to God. Put away evil and wrong from your home. Then face the world again, firm and courageous. Then all your troubles will fade from your memory, like floods that are past and remembered no more. Your life will be brighter than sunshine at noon, and life’s darkest hours will shine like the dawn. You will live secure and full of hope; God will protect you and give you rest” (Job 11:13-18 GNT).

What an amazing promise! When you repent of your mistakes, God always offers another chance. You only have to reach out to him, and you will be able to face the world and your future again with courage and hope.

If you want to move forward into God’s awesome dream for your life, then you’re going to have to shut the door on the past. You’re going to have to give up your grief, your guilt, and your grudges so that you can move forward in faith.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV).

The darkest days of your past will shine like the dawn. Streams will spring up in the wasteland of your pain.

Hallelujah! This is what Jesus offers to you today when you submit to him and his dream for your life.

Estás Seguro en las Manos de Dios

“Yo les doy vida eterna, y nunca perecerán… ni nadie podrá arrebatármelas de la mano.  Mi Padre, que me las ha dado, es más grande que todos; y de la mano del Padre nadie las puede arrebatar”. Juan 10:28-29 (NVI)

Cuando era pequeño, una de las cosas que más me impresionaba de mi padre eran sus manos. Desde mi perspectiva de niño, ¡sus manos eran enormes! Cuando se dedicaba a la carpintería, el martillo parecía desaparecer en sus manos.

Nuestro Padre celestial tiene manos realmente grandes. ¡Tiene el mundo entero en sus manos! ¿Cuán grandes son las manos de Dios?

Las manos de Dios son lo suficientemente grandes para bendecirte. Jesús imponía las manos sobre las personas y las bendecía. Él hace lo mismo por ti hoy. Isaías 62:3 dice: “El Señor te sostendrá en su mano para que todos te vean, como una corona espléndida en la mano de Dios” (NTV).

Las manos de Dios están marcadas para nunca olvidarte. En el Cielo, las únicas cicatrices estarán en Jesús. ¿Crees que Dios puede olvidarte? Tiene un recordatorio constante de ti en sus manos llenas de cicatrices. La Biblia dice: “¿Puede una madre olvidar a su niño de pecho, y dejar de amar al hijo que ha dado a luz? Aun cuando ella lo olvidara, ¡yo no te olvidaré! Grabada te llevo en las palmas de mis manos” Isaías 49:15-16 (NVI).

Las manos de Dios son lo suficientemente fuertes para mantenerte eternamente seguro. Juan 10: 28-29 dice: “Yo les doy vida eterna, y nunca perecerán… ni nadie podrá arrebatármelas de la mano.  Mi Padre, que me las ha dado, es más grande que todos; y de la mano del Padre nadie las puede arrebatar” (NVI).

Una vez que pones tu vida en las manos de Dios, nadie podrá sacarte de allí. Quizás te preguntes: “¿No puedo caerme de ellas?” ¿Qué tan grandes crees que son las manos de Dios? Nunca llegarás al borde de sus manos. Cada aspecto de tu vida está en sus manos.

Tu Padre te está esperando para saltar hoy. Él está diciendo: “Confía en mí. Se puede confiar en mí. Estoy trabajando entre bastidores. Y puedo manejar cualquier cosa que me des”.

¿Quieres que tu vida esté en las manos de Dios? Puedes confiar en Él hoy y siempre.

God Still Has a Dream for You

“When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s.”

1 John 2:2 (The Message)

Your sin may seem like the end of the world, but it does not end God’s dream for you. Why?

Because Jesus already paid for all your sins.

They were paid for before you even knew God had a dream for your life. The Bible says about Jesus, “When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s” (1 John 2:2 The Message).

When Jesus died on the cross, he paid for all your sins—the ones in your past, present, and future. If you don’t believe that when Jesus died on the cross, he paid for all your sins, then you’re saying that Jesus’ sacrifice wasn’t enough. Through the cross, everything you’ve ever done wrong was wiped out, forgiven, cleansed, purified, eliminated, and forgotten. Understanding that lets you live in the freedom to pursue God’s dream for your life.

Because God’s goodness isn’t based on your performance.

God’s goodness to you is based not on whether you deserve it but on the fact that he is a good God.

“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy” (Titus 3:5 NIV). That’s called grace! And it’s all you need to accept the good things God wants to do in your life.

Because God’s calling and gifts are given unconditionally.

God has a call for each person’s life. He has called you to a certain dream and purpose. He has given you gifts to fulfill that calling—and they are given unconditionally. If you had to work for them, they wouldn’t be called gifts.

God’s dream for your life is still in full force. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been working on it for years, or you’re getting started on it a little later in life.

It’s never too late to get God’s dream.

Talk It Over

God’s grace is based not on your goodness but on his goodness. What does that say about God’s character?
What are some of the ways you can tell that a person is living in God’s grace?
How can you show God that you are ready to get his dream for your life?

Would you like to receive God’s forgiveness and start a new life with Christ?

God promised that for those who believe in Jesus, there is no condemnation. He sent Jesus to save you from your sin. His death on the cross paid for every wrong you’ve ever done or will do. And by sacrificing himself for your sins and giving you his righteousness, Jesus made it possible for you to have a relationship with God, the Father.

And the good news doesn’t stop there. God also raised Jesus from the dead, proving his power over sin and death. And that makes it possible for you to spend eternity with him in heaven.

If you’re ready to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, start by praying this simple prayer: “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is your Son. I believe that he died for my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust him as my Savior and follow him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Dios Usa Tus Errores Para Bien

“ Y sabemos que Dios hace que todas las cosas cooperen para el bien de quienes lo aman y son llamados según el propósito que él tiene para ellos ”. Romanos 8:28 (NTV)

Hablemos claro. Tú y yo hacemos cosas tontas de vez en cuando. Nosotros cometemos errores.

Pero nada de lo que hagas jamás estará fuera del alcance de Dios para poder usarlo. Tú cometes errores, pero Dios no lo hace.

La Biblia dice en Romanos 8:28: “Y sabemos que Dios hace que todas las cosas cooperen para el bien de quienes lo aman y son llamados según el propósito que él tiene para ellos” (NTV). Cuando tú cometes un error, Dios dice, “Yo también puedo resolver eso. Yo puedo usar todo eso para bien”.

Sin embargo, quiero ser claro. Esto no es una promesa para todos. La Biblia no dice que Dios hace que todo obre para bien para aquellos que están viviendo en rebelión en contra de Él o para aquellos que no están viviendo para los propósitos de Dios.

Esta promesa es para personas que vienen a Dios y dicen, “Yo quiero vivir para tu propósito. Aunque cometo errores, quiero hacer lo correcto. Yo quiero seguirte y confiar en ti”. Haz eso, y Dios lo tomará todo y lo usará para su bien.

Eso es una razón para tener gozo.

Cuando pones tu vida en las manos de Dios, no significa que jamás volverás a caer. Todavía tomarás malas decisiones. Todavía seguirás cometiendo errores. Pero Dios puede acomodarlo todo en sus planes.

No hay un plan B para tu vida. Antes de que nacieras, Dios conocía todos los errores que cometerías. Y también sabía cómo acomodar esos errores en su plan.

Eso significa que te puedes relajar. Puedes dejar de sentirte ansioso. Haz lo mejor que puedas con lo que Dios te ha dado.

Puedes vivir confiado y con gozo, sabiendo que Dios hará que todo en tu vida obre para su plan.

The Purpose of Your Pain

“In our trouble God has comforted us—and this, too, to help you: to show you from our personal experience how God will tenderly comfort you when you undergo these same sufferings. He will give you the strength to endure.”

2 Corinthians 1:6 -7 (TLB)

God expects you to use your pain to help others. Whatever mistake, failure, trouble, trial, or bad decision you’ve experienced, God says, “I’ll still use it for good in your life. And I expect you to use it to help others.”

This is called redemptive suffering.

“In our trouble God has comforted us—and this, too, to help you: to show you from our personal experience how God will tenderly comfort you when you undergo these same sufferings. He will give you the strength to endure” (2 Corinthians 1:6-7 TLB).

Think of the biggest troubles you’ve had in your life and the worst pain you’ve had to endure physically or emotionally.

God doesn’t want you to waste that hurt; he wants to redeem your suffering. You can always help people more through your weaknesses than through your strengths. Telling someone all the things you’re good at won’t help someone in pain. But sharing with them how God has walked with you through your pain could change their life.

One of the biggest hurts in my life was the death of my youngest son, who took his life after struggling with mental illness for 27 years. Almost every day somebody calls me from around the world, asking for help with mental health. I didn’t ask for that ministry; I didn’t think that would be a part of my dream. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to waste my pain.

The people that come to me for help think I must be safe because I’ve been through it—and because I’m willing to talk about it.

What pain in your life are you not talking about because you think it’s a burden you have to carry alone?

God wants to use you right now—not when you’ve fully recovered or moved past your pain. He wants to use you even in the areas that you have been embarrassed about and that still hurt.

Part of God’s dream for your life is that you help people, not just through your gifts and strengths but also through your pain. This is what Jesus has done for you.

This is the power of the Gospel.

¿En Quién Deberías Confiar?

“ Pues la palabra del Señor es verdadera y podemos confiar en todo lo que él hace ”. Salmo 33:4 (NTV)

Una de las grandes preguntas de la vida es: “¿En quién deberías confiar?” La forma en que respondas a esta pregunta determinará si eres feliz o miserable, si tienes éxito o fracasas, si haces algo con tu vida o si la desperdicias.

Para determinar en quién debes confiar, hazte preguntas como estas: ¿Quién siempre tiene en cuenta tus intereses? ¿Quién te ayudará a tomar decisiones importantes? ¿Quién quiere verte triunfar?

¿Deberías confiar en la opinión popular? Puede que no sea una buena idea, ya que cambia constantemente. ¿Deberías confiar en las celebridades que marcan las últimas tendencias? Las tendencias cambian y las modas se desvanecen. ¿Deberías tomar decisiones vitales críticas basadas en lo que lees en las redes sociales? El hecho de que esté en línea no significa que sea verdaderamente confiable.

¿Qué hay de confiar en ti mismo? La verdad es que tus emociones pueden mentirte. La Biblia dice: “Nada hay tan engañoso como el corazón. No tiene remedio. ¿Quién puede comprenderlo?” Jeremías 17:9 (NVI). Cuando vives de acuerdo con tus emociones, puedes ser fácilmente manipulado por otras personas y por tus propios cambios de humor.

Si vas a confiar tu vida y tu futuro a alguien o algo, es mejor que elijas a alguien que tenga tus mejores intereses en el corazón, lo sepa todo, sea perfecto y nunca te mienta. Eso limita tus opciones a Dios.

Nadie más te dirá siempre la verdad. Lo van a tapar. Lo van a filtrar. Van a hacer que suene bien. Es posible que no te digan lo que necesitas escuchar. Pero lo que necesitas escuchar es la verdad, porque la verdad te hace libre. Las mentiras sobre ti mismo, los demás, el mundo y cómo es realmente la vida solo te mantendrán en cautiverio.

Y aunque la verdad te hará libre, al principio puede hacerte sentir miserable. Por eso a la gente no le gusta la verdad y, a menudo, la evita. No querrás escuchar que la mayoría de tus problemas fueron provocados por malas decisiones. No querrás escuchar que tu propia terquedad, ego e inseguridad causan estrés en tu vida, pero es cierto.

El Salmo 33:4 dice: “Pues la palabra del Señor es verdadera y podemos confiar en todo lo que él hace” (NTV).

Dios lo dijo, y eso lo resuelve todo, lo creas o no. Dios no está esperando tu opinión para descubrir qué está bien y qué está mal. Si Dios lo dice, es verdad.

Cada día, las voces a tu alrededor intentan que confíes en ellas. Pero solo hay una voz en la que puedes confiar y que siempre tendrá en mente lo mejor para ti. Confía en Dios para tu presente y tu futuro. Él nunca te decepcionará.
