Author: Heidi Main Publisher: Love Inspired Release Date: October 25, 2022 Genre: Contemporary Christian Romance Returning to small-town Texas was her fresh start.
She never expected a ready-made family. What could be better than running a rustic wedding venue? “I built my house, you know. I could help you. I mean, if you’d reconsider and watch Tori and Zoe for me.”
No way was Laney going to watch a pair of three-year-olds, even if they were adorable. “You’ve got to have other childcare options than me.”
Ethan shook his head. “You’re kind of my last hope.”
“But we barely know each other.”
“Yesterday you engaged with them like a pro. I think you’d do a fine job watching my girls. I was thinking you could nanny them until eleven. My mother will watch them later in the afternoons, so I can help you most days with the renovations, say from three to six? I’ll do whatever you tell me to do.” He moved to the porch and held open the door for her.
He needed help, she needed help. It was a simple exchange of services. Taking care of his sweet girls would not put her independence in peril.
Maybe she should consider his idea. “Okay, let’s give this a try.”

About Allie PleiterA murder in her yarn shop’s backyard puts Libby Beckett’s holiday plans on thin ice.…
The holiday season looks merry and bright for Libby and her friends at Y.A.R.N. The store is expanding for a holiday boom, and she’s gathered Collinstown’s businesses to decorate a community Christmas tree. Dashing “Gallant Herdsman” Vincenzo Marani arrives to showcase the rare vicuña, whose coat produces the world’s most luxurious yarn. It’s a perfect yuletide—until Libby’s ex-husband, Sterling, turns up in town…and then turns up dead.
The murder unravels Libby’s life faster than a hand-knit Christmas stocking. The luxe yarn goes missing, Sterling’s domineering family comes to town, and the vicuña attempt an escape. If Libby can’t stitch up a solution to the case, she may be trading in her knitting needles for a set of handcuffs.

🌱🌽🍅🍆🥕🌱🌽🍅🍆🥕 ABOUT THE BOOK: Leaving Stoney Ridge feels unbearable--but how can she stay?
Impulsive Lydie Stoltzfus has always felt like a disappointment--a square peg in a round hole in her quiet Amish community. Leaving her family and church seems like her best move, even though it would mean leaving Nathan Yoder behind. Nathan claims he's in love with her, but she knows she's not good enough for him. And if she is ever in doubt, Nathan's father reminds her frequently.
Knowing Lydie is "between" jobs again, the local doctor asks her to fill in at the front desk for a few months. This gives Lydie time to figure out how she's going to say goodbye to Nathan--and it gives Dok ample time to recognize the symptoms of a disorder rare among the Amish. She offers Lydie treatment that has the potential to change her life.
But will it be enough to make her stay? Or has help come too late? ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
A thought-provoking story about a unique Amish woman . . . Lydie Stoltzfus can't seem to hold down a job, and she feels as if she's a constant disappointment to her family, friends, and close Amish community. She flitters from one thing to the next without completing any one task, and she doesn't know how to stay focused. She considers herself a 'misfit.' Her father, David, is the bishop of their community. His patience, kindness, and affection for his daughter are admirable; but he wonders if he is helping her to be the person she was created to be. Her paternal grandmother is extremely critical and harsh of just about everything about Lydie. Just being around her grandmother causes Lydie untold stress and anxiety which makes her inability to focus even greater. Finally, someone close to Lydie who truly understands her strengths and weaknesses steps in to help the struggling young woman. She shares some sage advice and life skills with Lydie. The result of this woman's patience and guidance makes a world of difference for Lydie. Nathan Yoder, a gifted gardener and farmer, is a longtime friend and neighbor of the Stoltzfus family. He is interested in Lydie, but his father has inexplicably warned his son away from their neighbor. In fact, Mr. Yoder goes out of his way to be unkind and obnoxious toward Lydie. I enjoyed learning about Nathan's efforts to turn a portion of his family's farm into an organic garden filled with vegetables and fruits. The author shared a good deal of information about the issue of organic farming that I found interesting. Although Lydie constantly feels overwhelmed, her positive impact on her family and on Nathan is evident. She is creative and clever when it comes to solving problems. She is goodhearted and generous with her time and energy. The faith thread is woven throughout this story in subtle and overt ways. Readers are reminded through Lydie's experiences that we are all created in God's image. I've read several of this author's Amish romances and other fiction genres in the past few years. One of my favorite things about Suzanne Woods Fisher's books is that they deal with tough issues in a straight forward, honest way. She obviously researches her topics thoroughly in preparation for writing the book. Themes from previous books include addiction, recovery, depression, and suicide. This book is completely clean in language and content.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through their Revell Reads Blogger Program. All of my thoughts and opinions shared here are solely my own. 🌱🌽🍅🍆🥕🌱🌽🍅🍆🥕

Welcome to the Blog + Review Blitz for Her Favorite Wyoming Sheriff by Cari Lynn Webb, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!
ABOUT THE BOOK
Title:
Her Favorite Wyoming Sheriff
Series: The Blackwells of Eagle Springs Author: Cari Lynn Webb Publisher: Harlequin Heartwarming Release Date: October 25, 2022 Genre: Sweet Contemporary Romance She keeps finding trouble…
He keeps finding her
Adele Blackwell Kane can’t seem to not get arrested. In fact, the pretty widowed mom of twin girls might be Sheriff Grady McMillan’s favorite not-quite-a-criminal. But keeping Adele out of trouble is hard work—especially when Grady wants out of Wyoming for good. When Adele decides to rescue the town from developers, Grady wonders if his quirky felon might be stealing his heart, too… USA TODAY Bestselling Author From Harlequin Heartwarming: Wholesome stories of love, compassion and belonging. EXCERPT:Suddenly her sheriff was there. His steps sure and straight as if she was where he always knew she would be. Adele smoothed a hand over her hair and straightened on the bench. The sheriff walked right into the cell and sat beside her. So close they touched from knee to hip to shoulder. Yes, there were definitely things about Sheriff McMillan that Adele could get used to. If she was someone who wanted rainbows and cloud dances. But single moms and widows needed to keep their umbrellas ready, their boots on the ground and their hearts under wraps.
“I’m starving.” The sheriff stretched his legs out and crossed his boots at his ankles. “Want to get something to eat?”
“I’ve got a three cheese and meat lasagna that just needs to go into the oven.” Adele’s stomach rumbled and ruined any sweet talk she might’ve considered. But this was only an invitation in response to his offer. “The twins are sleeping over with their grandmother tonight. You can join me if you’d like. There’s more than enough to share.”
“I wasn’t asking you out to dinner so that you would cook for me.” Grady ran his hands over his legs.
“I love this town and the people in it,” Adele said. “But tonight, I don’t want to be around any of them. Sounds bad, doesn’t it?”
“It sounds understandable.” His eyebrows knit together, and he studied her. “You’re sure you want to be around me?”
“You aren’t really one of them.” Adele grinned. The sheriff had left town as soon as he’d received his high school diploma, and he hadn’t returned. Until now. He was made for more than Eagle Springs could ever give him. And one meal together wouldn’t change that.
“I feel like I should be offended.” Grady laughed and stood. He motioned toward the open cell door. “Come on. Let’s go put that lasagna in the oven.”
And Adele would put her interest on the shelf. After all, it was dinner, not a date.
MY REVIEW:
✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮
A well-written story about closing the door on past hurts in order to move toward a brighter future . . .
This is the first story in the 'The Blackwells of Eagle Springs' series that I have read. There are a large number of characters in the story, and the author provided background information on the individuals and their relationships with each other and the town.
Adele Blackwell Kane is a young widow with two-year-old twin daughters. She has a lovely spirit and is compassionate and kind toward everyone she meets. She seems to have a sunny outlook on the awkward situations in which she finds herself. I especially admired the ways in which she has modeled her positivity for her daughters. The twins are adorable in word and deed!
Temporary sheriff, Grady McMillan, was raised in Eagle Springs but he has not lived there for years. He has returned at the request of his father, Joe, to fill in as sheriff for six months. Grady is a reserved, intense man who holds his own secrets of betrayal and angst close to his heart. When Adele's lively spirit begins to awaken Grady's sleeping heart, he is understandably uncomfortable.
On top of the regular mishaps and trials of everyday life, Adele is being targeted by the town council for whatever code violations they can manufacture to hold against the young mother. Grady has to arrest her time and time again for minor infractions because several people are breathing down his neck. As a reader, I asked myself several times, Why are these people so set on ruin Adele and her plans to reopen the family's auction house?
Read this nicely-paced small town romance filled with fun, family, friends, and love. Eagle Springs, Wyoming, is a place where even newcomers can find friendship, healing, and forgiveness . . .
This book is completely clean in language and content.

~ WEDNESDAY COZY MYSTERY FEATURE A BOOK CLUB TO DIE FOR ~
~ WEDNESDAY COZY MYSTERY
BOOK FEATURE ~
A Book Club to Die For (A Beloved Bookroom)by Dorothy St. James About A Book Club to Die For
ExcerptLibrarians are keepers of knowledge, caretakers of truth, and sowers of wisdom. Many of us rush out to share the world with our communities with the enthusiasm of a child who has suddenly mastered a new skill. We want people to know, to know…well, everything.
When a member of an exclusive book club is checked out, spunky librarian Trudell Becket must sort fact from fiction to solve the murder.
The Cypress Arete Society is one of the town’s oldest and most exclusive clubs. When assistant librarian Trudell Becket is invited to speak to the group about the library, its modernization, and her efforts to bring printed books to the reading public, her friend Flossie invites herself along. Flossie has been on the book club’s waiting list for five years, and she’s determined to find out why she’s never received an invitation to join.
But not long after Tru and Flossie arrive for the meeting, they’re shocked to find the club’s president, Rebecca White, dead in the kitchen. Rebecca was a former TV actress and local celebrity, but was not known for being patient or pleasant. She’d been particularly unkind to the book club’s host for the evening, who also happens to be the mother of Detective Jace Bailey, Tru’s boyfriend. And Rebecca had made it clear that she didn’t think Flossie was book club material.
With her boyfriend and one of her best friends wrapped up in a murder, Tru has to work fast to figure out who cut Rebecca’s story short before the killer takes another victim out of circulation....
This is our mission. This is our passion.
We are the bringers.
We are the beacons cutting through the darkest of nights.
I should be thrilled to be able to provide this service to a local book club that calling itself the Arete Society. So why did I have this sudden desire to turn around, march back to my car, and drive home as fast as my old Camry would take me?
I’d been asked to give a presentation. I’d been tasked to share my knowledge of books and my experiences working at the library with a group of ladies who love books as much as I do. I lived for moments like this.
Didn’t I?
Usually, yes.
But.
Not.
Tonight.
“Trudell Becket, what’s got you dragging your feet like this?” Flossie Finnegan-Baker turned her wheelchair toward me. “I do believe a cornucopia of slugs just passed us.”
“Cornucopia? Of slugs?” I asked. That couldn’t be right. But before she could explain that a group of slugs was indeed called a cornucopia, I said, “Never mind.” Flossie was rarely wrong when it came to grammar and etymology. Besides, slugs weren’t important. “This,” I said. “This is a mistake.” I felt the truth of it like a stone in my gut. I stood in the middle of the long, winding sidewalk leading up to Hazel Bailey’s front porch and scrunched my eyes closed. “I shouldn’t be here.”
“You’re suffering from a case of the jitters.” My friend touched my hand. I looked at her, and she smiled encouragingly at me. Flossie had dressed for the book club meeting in muted shades of turquoise and tan. The colors spiraled together on her long, homemade tie-dyed dress, but it was quite a shift from the bright (and often) clashing colors she usually wore. She’d attached a large golden pin in the shape of Edgar Allen Poe’s face to the collar of the thick white button-up sweater she’d worn over her dress. “Honey, even I get the jitters every time I do something new. Everyone does. That’s why you brought me. To have your back. And I do. I’ve got your back. And you’ve got this. Let’s go.”
Our host lived at the edge of town in the middle of a forest of cypress trees that gave the town its name. The cypress’s silvery trunks stood tall and straight, like the spines of books on a shelf, gleaming in the fading embers of the sunset.
Books were the reason I’d been asked to speak to the Arete Society. And those same books were the reason I couldn’t go through with it.
Meet Charlie Newcastle: the Hunky Owner of the Deckle Edge Bookstore in A BOOK CLUB TO DIE FOR by Dorothy St. James
“I can feel infinitely alive curled up on the sofa reading a book.” ~ Benedict Cumberbatch
Everyone seems so interested in my past, which is silly. My past is boring. Sure, Hollywood makes a life like mine seem fascinating. That’s all done to sell movie tickets. The reality of my past, working in Vegas, is filled with empty cartons of greasy fried chicken, emptywhiskey bottles, and broken promises. It wasn’t glamorous. The hours stunk. And it certainly wasn’t good for the long-term.
That’s why I would escape into books every chance I got when on the job. A job you really don’t care to hear about. I’d rather tell you about my present life and my love of books.
“Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” ~ Plato
I heard from an addict in Vegas about this small town in South Carolina where they were practically giving away buildings in their dying downtown.I had been building a tidy retirement fund, waiting for a chance to escape from this life that wasn’t for me. I didn’t care that the downtown wasn’t doing well. I could make things work as an online business.
“One of the best things about reading is that you’ll always have something to think about when you’re not reading.” ~ James Patterson
I was overdue for a change in my life, so I took it. I bought a historic building that hadn’t completely crumbled on its foundations and moved to a part of the country that seems both foreign and somewhat wonderful to me. I love the silences here. I love that I don’t have to be at work in the middle of the night. I love that I finally, finally, finally got the chance to surround myself with books as I opened a bookstore that sells both new releases and rare collectors editions.
“If you are going to get anywhere in life, you have to read a lot of books.” ~ Roald Dahl
I expected this sleepy small town to prove to be wonderfully, refreshingly dull.
Hah!
“A library card is the start of a lifelong adventure.” ~ Lilian Jackson Braun
It’s been anything but that! The friends I’ve made in the town keep finding themselves in the worst sorts of pickles. Murders happen. Books are endangered. And people keep whispering their secrets to me as if I’m some sort of priest sworn to hear and absolve their sins.
If I wasn’t so in love with the town and my new friends here, I might be tempted to close up shop and move back to the safety of the Las Vegas strip. But my new friends, my book-loving friends, they’re helping protect the things in life I cherish most. So I’ve decided to stay and help them.
“It is better to be shoeless than bookless.” ~ Icelandic Proverb
I hope you’ll join me in the pages of Tru’s latest adventure in A BOOK CLUB TO DIE FOR. It might be her most challenging one yet. What looks like an open and shut case to the police will put her boyfriend’s mother in jail for murder. Tru has promised to try and find another answer. The more she looks into the murder of the president of the local book club, the more she worries that she won’t like the answer she’s going to find.
I’m trying to support her as much as I can. Perhaps you can help her too.

~ FRIDAY FICTION FEATURE EXPLOSIVE CHRISTMAS SURPRISE ~
🎄💣🎅💥🎁🎄💣🎅💥🎁
Welcome to the Blog Tour for Explosive Christmas Showdown by Darlene L. Turner, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!
🎄💣🎅💥🎁🎄💣🎅💥🎁
ABOUT THE BOOK
Title:
Explosive Christmas Showdown
Series: Crisis Rescue Team #2 Author: Darlene L. Turner Publisher: Love Inspired Suspense Release Date: October 25, 2022 Genre: Christian Romantic Suspense A bomber brings terror to Christmas
as the presents go tick…tick…boom. With criminal investigative analyst Olive Wells at the center of a bomber’s dangerous game, she’ll do anything to catch the culprit—even work with her ex-fiancé and his K-9 detector dog. But with the Christmas rampage drawing ever closer, Zac Turner’s convinced the attacks are personal. Can they piece together their ties to the bomber…before another gift explodes? From Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith. 🎄💣🎅💥🎁🎄💣🎅💥🎁 EXCERPT:“We need to search the rest of the floor, just in case—” Their chiming cell phones interrupted Zac’s words.
Olive’s senses heightened at what she guessed was about to happen. She read the text.
The game isn’t over.
She glanced at Zac.
His eyes widened as he checked the joint text.
There were more bombs in the building, and it was up to them to find them.
🎄💣🎅💥🎁🎄💣🎅💥🎁 MY REVIEW:🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟A well-constructed, fast-paced story with a holiday theme . . .
This is the first book I have written by this skilled suspense author, but it definitely will not be the last!
From the first sentence in the story to the last, this book keeps readers on their toes and actively engaged. The action is almost nonstop, and there is an edgy atmosphere around everything that happens in the story because of the creepy villain—the Jingle Bell Bomber.
The main characters, criminal investigative analyst Olive Wells and Constable Zac Turner, are three-dimensional characters intent on finding 'JB', as the bomber likes to be called, no matter what it takes. And it takes a lot of backbreaking detective work, patience, and courage to track down the killer before he kills anyone else. Olive is required to overcome many fears in this story, and she grows a lot as an individual as time progresses.
Zac's K-9 detector dog, Ziva, is my favorite character in this story. This well-trained canine officer is a highly-qualified bomb detector as well as a search and rescue veteran. She is highly-intelligent, intuitive, and loving. She senses when her human friends are in need of some comfort or assistance, and I felt her presence in the story took the emotional side of the story to a higher level.
The faith element in the story is strong and positive. Christians who are struggling with their faith find support and encouragement from those surrounding them. The rekindled romance between the two lead characters is realistic and filled with ups and downs. The story is completely clean in language and content.

ABOUT THE BOOK 🐎🌼🐴 ~ Note from June: Isn't this a beautiful cover? I love horses, and this picture perfectly captures the bond between a trainer and her horse.
Title:
The Secrets of Emberwild
Author: Stephenia H. McGee Publisher: Revell Release Date: October 4, 2022 Genre: Christian Historical Fiction A gifted trainer in a time women are not allowed to race, Nora Fenton prefers horses to men. They're easier to handle, they're more reliable, and they never tell her what to do. After her father's passing, Nora is determined to save her struggling horse farm, starting with entering her prize colt into the harness races at the 1905 Mississippi Fair. If she wins, she may have a chance at independence. But when a stranger arrives and starts asking disconcerting questions, she suspects he may have other motives than unseating her in the training job that is rightfully hers.
Silas Cavallero will do whatever it takes to solve the mystery of his father's death--even if it means training an unwieldy colt for Nora, who wants nothing more than to see him gone. But when mysterious accidents threaten their safety and circumstances shrouded in secrets begin unlocking clues to his past, Silas will have to decide if the truth is worth risking ruining everything for the feisty woman he's come to admire. 🐎🌼🐴🌻🐎🌼🐴🌻🐎 EXCERPT:Arrow snorted and pranced. The stallion, two years old last month, was as high-strung as he was beautiful and brimmed with potential. A few more weeks of training and he’d be ready for his first qualifying race—just in time for the fair.
She hoped.
If only she could work with him longer each day. Father’s insistence that a woman had no place training horses hadn’t waned as his illness worsened, and the stable hands still thought they were doing her a favor by thwarting her efforts. Mother, for her part, seemed to think it her duty to carry on Father’s archaic ideals with a fervor. As though doing so would smother Nora’s modernized way of thinking and suddenly turn her into the pristine lady they’d both somehow failed to produce.
Nora swatted a thick seed head. She’d show them. Her methods worked faster and better than any of the stable hands’, but none of them would admit it.
She smirked. They wouldn’t have a choice if she got Arrow ready on her own.
If she could prove to Mother that women were capable of more than just tending home and hearth, then perhaps she could convince Mother to entertain her other ideas for the farm. Father wouldn’t get better, and they needed to prepare. Arrow was the key to her independence.
