The Beloved Hope Chest by Amy Clipston

My rating: 4 of 5 stars


What a great read to start off the New Year of 2018!

Amy Clipston is one of my favorite Amish fiction writers, and this is one of her best novels I've yet read.

This story and its main characters caused me to tear up on more than one occasion. This is a tale of one woman's struggle with not one, but two, tragic events happening in a very short period of time.

The supporting characters exhibit qualities we'd all like to see in our friends and relatives. Kindness, compassion, and a willingness to help out wherever they're needed.

I loved the themes of love, patience, devotion, understanding, loyalty, and personal growth that run throughout the book. The male lead, Leroy, is an unbelievably strong, good-hearted man. Mattie, the female lead, is a woman who wants to do the right thing for others but who struggles with her emotions. {Read the book to find out what I'm alluding to because I don't want to spoil the story for you by revealing too much detail here.}

Highly recommended for fans of Amish fiction, historical fiction, clean fiction, and clean romance. I look forward to reading more of this author's work in the near future.
